How do you set your slipper? I had a 81 spur in there but changed to 84 because I thought that would bring the temps down and right now my slipper is tightened all the way.

stick a allen in the blue slipper nutt and roll your car forward or backwards tilll you feel your slipper loosen up..then from a dead stop punch it and it should slip a little right off the bat...what esc and motor your running...are you running a fan on the esc?

What is the reason for running that gearing? Seems a little off. The slipper is designed to save your diff, not compensate for the wrong gearing. Tightening down your slipper all the way and running 17/84, id be curious to see what temps you are running. Did someone bring the marshmellows?

Read the manual. Tighten it so the shaft sticks out 10mm. I find that to be an almost perfect starting point.

Yeah you don't want your slipper tightened *all* the way down; then it won't slip at all, and defeats the whole purpose. Like the above user said, right around 10mm as the manual states is a good place to start. When set right, you should hear the slipper make a high pitched slip/squeal sound for a few feet (like 1 yard) after hard take off from a stand still.

I change the gearing 17/81 and drove it with my slipper loose a bit then something in the rear diff messed up and my car wouldn't move anywhere. So I gotta check that out maybe the diff balls busted. I lossene it just a bit and it slipped really hard, so tightened backed upa bit and then the diff busted. So I ordered some
Balls and are waiting on them now

Just replacing the balls is not going to fix the problem. Sounds like you fried your diff with the slipper cranked down. You are going to need the thrust and diff washers., diff and thrust balls, and you say the diff busted? Sounds like the shaft or the nut will need replacing as well.

Those of you using Losi BB shocks, what springs are you running? I run on an indoor medium/high bite indoor wet clay track. It seems like running just the BB springs most are going with red/white or red/yellow. Would the same hold true with the Losi shocks in there too?
