No such thing as too much torque, but that is a relatively slow servo. I'd look for something in the .10 or faster range.

anything over 120oz of torque is fine.

The 1258 will work fine. Just grind a few mm off the end of the bellcrank.

hey i found it for $125 sweet deal did you have to do any mods or did it just mount up with or without the spacers??

For some reason, the servo mounting holes on the chassis plate are super variable.

I tried a 1258 in my car, and if I were to grind a few mm of as you suggest, I'd be compromising the threads in the ball end on the bellcrank.

My friends' B44.1 has nearly 2mm clearance with the same set up! Way to go, AE!

I like the losi pinions they run quiet and last forever. There hard coated steel. I like the steel so I can tighten them down and not worry as much about stripping one or seizing the threads. (I use blue lock tight).
Aluminum or titanium are probably more efficient and less stress on the motor though.

If it matters the Losi pinions run quieter. IMO.

i got the X20 6.5 too susposted to be hear be weds at the latest hopefully sooner was talking to the guy i am getting it from and he has been running them for the last 3 weeks and he's coming off the track with temps around 150 with a TC spec esc not sure the setup but he was running 18/81 gears and the power band is so smooth yet powerful i can't wait to get mine will let you know what i think

he said they gave him some to test out and he had a couple of them i just asked him if i could give his info and he would rather me not give it out but i have known him for over ten yeas we ran into each other at the track after the races and we haven't talked in a couple years but he hooked me up after we went to get a drink and i was gonna wait for it from my LHS could get them but i had the chance to i went with it but i will post about it

I haven't heard anything on mine. Its on order so if they are hitting the net they should arrive any time.

Just looking for a starting point with these things. A little help would really be appreciated.

Sorry, I don't run big bores on anything so I can't help.

Ha I asked the same question not too long ago and didn't get many answers. SO...I went on Kyosho's site and looked up Tebo's ZX-5 shock setup for the Reedy 2011 at West Coast RC (my local track). I know it's not the same buggy but the specs on the Kyosho are pretty similar in dimensions and weight Kyosho being a touch lighter. Haven't run it yet though but at least I have a ballpark to start with.


Front: 35wt/ yellow springs

Rear: 30wt/ red springs
