Kyosho standard bore springs won't rub less than the ae springs. The rubbing is a function of the geometry. You would best be off either running the ae springs or getting some BB springs....Or just get faster by .1sec to make up the difference.
Actually Kyosho velvet springs don't rub, nor do Durango springs. The Durango's are way cheaper though.
I've had both of them rub, if yours didn't then it just happened to be luck I guess. After studying springs, I learned that the tendency of a spring to buckle is a function of the Spring free length /Spring diameter.
Hence why big bores springs are so much better. It's not the the spring is spaced further away but rather that the ratio (Free length / spring diameter) is less than four which is the ratio for its working stability. Measure this on a bb spring and AE spring and calculate it if you don't believe me, or look it up.

I got my masters in truck driving, but I know if you take a little time and sand paper and a flat surface you can fix the rub with stock springs in a few minutes....
Just try and compress a rear AE green spring and then try and compress a kyosho gold rear spring. I will be willing to bet money you cannot compress the green spring all the way down with JUST your index finger and thumb without it shooting out, while the BB spring will compresses easily.

I ran the K yellow fronts when they were the "hot ticket"........they rubbed too, yellow dust on the threads of the shock body. Car was better than with AE browns.
Losi BB springs...better than both

Sure didn't look very good. Go back and look at Thursday at 10:27am or try the neat little search function
