I have to say the stock RTR tires actually worked well on the carpet. I am using the FT setup with a few modifications as far a settings go (but I may even go back to that as the fast guy was using more of the FT setup than I and I liked how his vehicle handled). but one thing every one is agreeing on is using the rear sway bar.

As for the hexes, i did the mod someone recommended by drilling the hex and putting in a set screw. works well. Worth a look if you can't locate some alloy hexes and hate your hexes coming off.

As for the whole slop issue, you may find you need to replace a-arms as well as the pin hole will slop out too.

The way I understand it, the only time you would not want to use swaybars is on rough tracks where you need the wheels to move independently to keep the truck stable and to keep traction.

Rx box with SR300

Anyone use the Rx box with the Spektrum SR300 Rx? I had two problems with mine.
1. the Rx takes up the whole box and blocks where the wires come in. I was able to squeeze the wires past so not that big a deal
2. The box won't close with the servo wires plugged in. Kinda defeats the purpose of the whole thing when I can't close the lid.

Figure that they can't really design it to fit all the millions of combinations out there. Literally tens of thousands of of RC vehicles have been run very successfully without a RX box. More for the basher than the racer.

That was my understanding.

Thanks. I'll see if I can get the hot shoes setup and give it a try.

For you guys who also run a T4.1, you using the sway bar there too?

The box is really worthless. The rest of the car (Battery, motor, servo) is not water proof so there is no point in a waterproof receiver box

That's how I see it.

Does any one here run their electronics online with their battery?? I tried it over the weekend and noticed the truck jumped a lot more consistent.

 I'm confused. How do you run your electronics online with the battery? And how would it make the truck jump better?

Buckaroo 02-20-2012 03:36 PM

I'm pretty sure that he meant "inline". It would centralize the components, but you would have to be pretty confident in your F/R weight bias since you're going to want to secure the components to keep them from flying out, and that would severly limit your ability to tweak based on battery position.

That makes sense. I didn't know if I missed some new trick.

I run my Viper VTX10 in the battery tray. The factory strap still fits without hitting the cap...

This was the easiest way for me to run losi bb springs. Fabricated a spacer out of alum. I am running the bottoms from older XXX-T shocks. Made a few sets for the T4, B4, and SC10.

The receiver box may not protect the rest of the truck, but it sure protects the receiver itself from dust and debris. Since I have to add weights anyway to offset the ESC, I see no disadvantage to leaving it on, assuming the receiver fits inside. :D

I added a servo extension to have a free receiver port outside the receiver box.
