So, I am looking at different servo's to buy for my FT SC10 kit. It seems like there are two popular models that are commonly used:

- Hitech HS645MG ($32)
- Savox SC-1258TG ($70)

The reviews that I saw for the Savox were 5/5 and the ones for the Hitech were 4/5. I wasn't really planning on paying over $70 (servo+shipping) for the servo. However, I am worried that the Hitech isn't fast enough (this seems to be the issue people state about this servo on amainhobbies.com). So, does anyone know if there is another servo that works really well for the 2wd FT SC10? I was planning to spend about $50 or less on it, and am not a "pro" racer, but would still like to keep my truck competitive. Thanks guys! :)

Hey Fella's.

I got my FT SC10 Today. I want to run the 12mm Hex out of the RS RTR on my FT kit to match my SC10 4x4. I looked up some of what you guys were saying. I want to confirm my findings.

1. with the RSspec modification, It retains the Zero offset that the Jconcepts and Proline conversion kits do?
2. Will the CVA's work with the 12mm hex in the rear? I work at a LHS and pulled out both manuals and starting doing a compare and check, and it didn't give an axle diameter to conclude if that was the case.

1. So. Is there aluminum hex options for front 'and' rear? I see rears everywhere. (something like the 4x4 AL hexes would be sweet, Think they'll work somehow?) Jconcepts hubs
- I see the four hexes from the Part #9883, two different kinds. Am I out of luck?

2. Is there some Aluminum Lock nuts with the serration that will work with these stupid standard sized axles? (like Jconcepts or Traxxas?) Do I just buy two sets of these to get the four blue ones for all four axles with the Conversion?

Edit: ALSO. Is anyone going to run the new Sc10 4x4 spec Rear Diff that comes with the RSspec instead of the Balldiff? I know gear diffs through and through. I really prefer them but with this new diff, is it worth bothering with or just ignore it and run the standard FT balldiff?

Anyone hear if AE is releasing a new version of the SC10 FT? I am pondering on getting one and was hoping they would update the kit with Hex wheels. This seems to be the trend. I have rtr now. Anyone else expirience a improvement in handling and drop in lap times with a FT over a rtr with similar electronics and setups?

They are going through their lineup with .2 updates. They have to compete with losi's new 22 line. It's bound to happen.

I want new bigbores like the 4x4 on this truck. they're falling behind.

What servo are you guys using for racing... What number should I focus on when buying a servo. What is the magic number that I should look for, Torque or Speed...

I would buy a align ds610 servo, its the servo I use in everything I own! It has a great amount of torque and sick speed. And its like 45 bucks on ebay

IMO, .15 or faster and no less than 120 oz. both at 6v.

I run nothing slower than .10 or under 150 oz. but that's me.... 120oz and .15 is fine for most people.

What do you think of the DS650, its a couple bucks more and a little faster with an alum case...

The case is still plastic, only the center section is aluminum.

The ds610 has the same exact thing only its aluminum peice is blue instead of silver. I dont think the ds650 has enough torque. It says it is for a tail rotor meaning it doesnt need the torque, just speed. To be honest you really dont want much faster than the ds610 because your truck will become twitchy. I still think the ds610 is perfect, its the servo I run in my losi 22, sc10 4x4, and ft sc10. Plus you can get them on ebay for around 50 bucks.

I posted the part numbers for the Front Hex parts needed a page or 2 back.
Kit 9883 comes with 2 front hex and 2 rear hex. The rear he will at on epoint cause the wheel to become loose and You will have to run a washer between the axle nut and the rim. I use Jconcepts rear alum. hex's, the front I use the stock plastic ones with small hole drilled in them with a set screw to keep them on. the alum. fronts seem to give you a 1 or so +mm offset. I didn't like that so I ran stock.

The CVA's will work. If you are coming from a truck with pins. just remove the axle pin. remove that large round spacer. reinstall the axle pin and than the Hex.

I run a Gear diff in my SC10 and I just installed one in my B4.1 FT. I like them more. just me though.

I run the blue small Axle nuts the thin ones on my Buggy and truck. work just fine. I think someone sells ones like the 4x4 uses.
They may or may not be. It's here say. I am waiting to see if one really comes out

I run the Savox 1258TG 166 oz tq @.08(.06) speed. works just fine. they are power hungry though. May need a glitch buster or a BEC. I don't have problems with it on my Novak system. works fine
