You'll need to provide a rough track size, your exact motor spec (10.5, 17.5, etc.) and whether you'll be running any boost or not but I have that ESC and love it.
I'm just running 17.5/blinky stock but my settings are 3-6-0-10 (that'll make sense when you see the instruction manual) geared 26/75 on Trinity's D3 17.5 for an indoor track that is roughly 100'x35' big. Ill be running a FT SC10 2WD with a LRP SXX Comp. V2 esc and the Orion Vortex VST Pro Stock 13.5T motor. I wont be using boost. The class uses 17.5T motors w/boost & 13.5T without boosts. I was going to go with the D3 13.5T but got the extra bucks from selling a few things so I went ahead and got the Orion. Hopefully it was well worth it. I appreciate the help guys. |

People say the RPM bumper is a required hop-up, but I'm not so sure anymore. I have it on both of mine but a lot of folks don't have chassis breakage issues w/o it.

Hey guys, need a little gearing info. MMP with Fantom 8.5 and 35c Thunderpower. Large asphalt track at hobbytown. Need some juice.

Is it really a good idea to copy a pro setup?
I have a strong background in motocross so I tend to relate a lot of things to it. In moto a pro suspension setup is worthless to the avg. racer. It's waaay to stiff!!! The speed that they hit turns, berms, jumps and how hard they are on the throttle\brakes is sooooo much more than the ave racer. Just wondering how this relates to rc racing.....?

I think proper car maintenance (shocks, bearings, ball cups, etc) will do more for racers than a "pro" setup will. I know way too many guys that don't change the shock oil until after 8 race days. |

I actually bought one for my truck but haven't put it on. That thing seems heavy to me. I need to actually weigh the bumpers to see what the difference is. I don't think there's much benefit to it. I generally race twice a week and have plenty of crashes. I only broke the chassis once when I ran into something head-long at full speed. I doubt the bumper would have made any difference then.

We had Richard Saxton come up to a race at our track not thT long ago and he settled on shock oil that was 5w lower thN anyone else was running on the same car, track, and tires. Sometimes I can see them running stiffer but more often than not, everyone will probably run even closer than they might think.

U will end up breaking ur chassis w/o the rpm bumper....ive seen it plenty of times
I am not a fan braces. I understand the new SC10 chassis is much better than what I have so you just have to drive better. |
Is the gearing chart for the brushless RTR the same as the FT kit?
|
Yes, it's still the same transmission ratio.

Ball diff maint.
Ok, so I must have built\broke in my ball diff correctly, it has 5 races on it and is still buttery smooth. My question is should I clean and regrease it or just run it untill it gets gritty?

Im having a but of a pushing issue on my FT. I am running 17.5 stock and mod with this truck, and with mod (6.5) I can swing it around more, however with 17.5 its not that easy! Im running the battery all the way forward, with an Ounce of weight in the front on either side of the servo! Im running a 1251, so the ounce kind of makes up for the low profile... Im running 1 on the tower, and A on the C-hub. Then 1 and B on the rear. running 27.5 losi in the front, and 30 in rear. I have not drilled the 4th hole, because I figured if I did it would make the rear end softer, or is this wrong? It just seems to want to push more, I tried pushing the motor all the way back for more swing weight, but still does not want to turn.. Any help is appreciated!
