Looking into the FT sc10, I've seen the Castle 1410 4-pole SCT combo working great in big 4x4s. Will this combo work for the sc10? too much torque? Thanx!

I also run at SDRC and with the RTR motor I run 22/81. Any more than that and the motor will cog if you give it a burst of throttle from low speed. With my LRP 8.5 I'm still hammering out the best gearing... I'm close at 24/81, but might have room to go bigger.

that seems like a lot of gear for an 8.5 but tracks and motors do vary.

could someone tell me a good replacement for the stock servo? round 40 bucks or so. thanks

When the pros setup calls for limiters in the shocks, are they talking about inside the shock body under the piston or compression limiters above the bottom eye?

Under the piston.

Boosted 17.5 I run 84/22 right now at Westcoast, with the 75 spur I think a 25 or 26 is the smallest you can go,And I believe 34 is the largest you can go

gearing and timing go hand in hand....

you can run the same gearing with different timing setups on the tekin but motors will come off at completely different temps...

be careful when you get gearing suggestions from other that also run timing.

another thing that make a HUGE difference is the motor bein run. different brands use different weight rotors which also plays a roll in the gearing.

aluminum versus steel pinions....aluminum vs steel top shafts....

just always remember that just because it works for one person doesnt mean that you will get the same exact results.

:)

just did the fr hex if your doing them to save you some time when you take a wheel off take the plastic hex and tap one part with a 3mm and use a grub screw to hold it on just like a pinion, and if your using the proline rear hex do the same

Did you notice the front any narrower? I have the axles and steering blocks but no hexes. Comparing them to the proline frt hex conversion, it looks like ae parts will make the front narrower.

Has anyone considered using the SC10 4x4 shocks on the 2wd? I think the fronts will fit and the rears are a little shorter but maybe OK. What do you think?

Is a 10.5 motor too much for a SC10?

Any advice helps,
thanks

Zac

540. 550 is for a 4wd SC truck

10.5 will be a perfect "starter" mod motor. Enough power to go fast, not enough to go too fast but you could also buy a 7.5 or 8.5 now and just run with your throttle epa turned down until you get used to the truck. You can always make a fast motor go slower but it's hard to make a slower motor faster.
