Yes those are the new shims though . the old ones actually had a hole so the 3/16 x3/8 screw would hold it better . the new ones just slide in and out ! :deathstar

do you guys cut extra holes in the rear of the body to prevent parashuting?

I did and it does help some. I know guys that run without too, if you keep the truck level in doesn't come in to play as much.

I noticed most of the air gets caught under the hood. I drilled about 10 3/8ths hole in the hood and helped alot with the nose up problem. on a windy day, outdoor, there's no stoping the parachute affect tho.

I did get the strc 1* hubs. Oh well I guess I'll save them for the outdoor tracks. Our indoor clay track shouldnt require that much rear toe.

Sure there is. If you're jumping into the wind on a big jump, stay on the throttle and you can nail a backflip

can anyone recommend good oil/spring combos for a bumpish track? currently got silver springs on the front, green on the rear with 400 all round. they are the only springs i have for now. gonna start stocking up on parts to get my 10 humming for upcoming summer(southern hemi;)) racing

T-BirdJunkie 10-21-2010 12:11 AM

Well crap. If you were running Losi shocks ThunderbirdJunkie could tell you what to run on a bumpy blown out 1/8 track :(

With Losi shocks, red springs front and rear, and 30 wt oil up front and 35 out back...anybody able to translate that into Associatedese?

i run gold front grey rear. 40wt

jaggededge 10-21-2010 05:32 AM

Blue springs front, Green springs rear, 35wt.
Truck is planted and often saves itself.

On bumpy tracks I run Blue/Silver 35wt front and green 30wt rear. Great forward traction and soaks up the bumps pretty good. If the track is smoother I increase front spring rates and go 40wt front/35wt rear. I always keep the 5wt difference between front and rear for forward traction.

I see what you mean. I always cut the end of the hole anyway so I could slide it in and out too. It rarely came out, and if it did it was just a little on one side. I'd just loosen the screw more and push it back in and retighten.
