Speaking of leaky shocks...my track has to throw out speedy-dri from my truck shocks leaking, gets all over the track like I blew an engine...anyway, I ordered these o-rings from McMaster Car http://www.mcmaster.com/#90025k123/=8z855d

Are these the right ones to use so you can tame the new shocks? I really don't want to have to buy the V2s unless I absolutely have to. I'd rather find some Losi shocks but there again, spending more money that I could use to get my MMP and replace parts that are getting slop in them. Gnome Sayin?

What is a good gearing combo to start with for the 17.5 and 13.5 motors? The track isnt huge...

does anyone know af a nice looking rally body for the SC10? like one that's not ugly like the 14RS? not that I don't like the SC bodies (which I really do) but I want it to be cheaper for a clear one.

So is there a rally body that sitll has the height of the SC bodys? without the price?

35 bucks is about as good as you're gonna get with a body that's big enough to fit over the SC10's wheels.

ok so I got a RTR brushless SC10 the other day and this thing is fast.. I am running on a high bite carpet so I got red springs all around and I have removed all of the spacers and that seems to keep the truck on the ground the best through corners.. However my new dilemma is the jumps.

Everytime I go over one its nose down everytime and I cant get the nose to come up no matter what I do. I can control it if I dont try to get huge air but sometimes that might be a must do.. Anyway anyone that can help me I would appreciate it.

the rear springs are too stiff and ur donkey kicking the jumps. try a softer spring.

u may loose a little bit in the corners, but it's stiff faster than being marshaled or breaking something on the jump.

Put the clips back and adjust ride height so the dogbones are level and ft arm level...

I use anything from 26/75 to 28/75 depending on temps. If the temp is abou 70 degress you should be able to run 27/75.

did that but I just roll over in the corners because there is so much traction

Also is there any companies that make a cool bead lock for the sc10, besides the red and black proline ones?

Try clipping one full coil off the front springs and reset your ride height. That will stiffen them up even more. You could move the shocks to the outer holes on the arm and chassis too.

Trucks have a high center of gravity and roll way more than say a buggy...

You can't it have both ways , adjust so you get the best jump & corner...

C_Money 09-24-2010 10:29 AM

alright well I will do some more testing with it.. Anyone know of any beadlocks besides the prolines though?

ya, those are the right quad-rings. i run those in all my ae shocks, v1, and v2.

I bought the SC10 brushless rtr for racing indoors this winter. The track is high bite clay usually has a tight layout and jumps made from wood covered with carpet. I am new to SC trucks and havent done electric racing for years. I'd like to know what a good starting point for setup is. Specifically interested in what fluid I should put in the rear diff and/or should I swap it out for a ball diff or is that just an option to keep drivetrain weight down. My plan is to buy a set of tires and a good lipo pack soon and once I do Im thinking of upgrading to cvds and V2 shocks. What else is recommended for these trucks. I dont want to change to rpm arms and bumpers but know their tie-rod ends are worth getting. Anything I can get from AE directly is a plus.

Trying to get an idea on lipos. Like I said its a brushless rtr and my plan is to stick with that system until Ive done all other upgrades then probably get a good sensored 17.5 setup. I dont think any of the races will be longer than 10 minutes so do I need to get a 5000mah pack or will something like the 3400mah Reedy pack be good enough. I dont even know if there is a weight requirement or if heavy or light is a benefit in SC racing.

Help an experienced racer who knows nothing about SC learn the ropes so I dont embarrass myself this winter :D
