Hi guys,

Has anyone run on a indoor carpet setup? I bought some heavier weight shock oil and ordered a rear sway bar.

Any advice is appreciated.

I need to change my motor the one that came in my rtr kit to a 17.5 motor to run in the stock class. Will a TEKIN motor run with my stock ESC?
or do I need to get both (esc, motor) also with that motor what kind of gearing should I get i am running a 2s lipo on a small track with a very short straight away

I use RPM's on mine as well and have never had one pop off.

The only thing I've broke is the front-left a-arm.....3 times!:weird:

Right? It's all mild stuff.

Stupid weak Lunsford turnbuckles:weird:

Gear ratio website

Hey can someone re-post the link that the website that helps with gearing. I found it a few days ago in this thread and now I cannot find it. The website was black when you enter and then you can pick vehicle ESC motor and then it gives you 4 different sur gear sizes and then pinnion suggestion!

Please re post it if you know the website!! or PM me thanks

Stock tires work great maybe a little traction compound if allowed... caspers start setup works pretty nice, w 1.5 camber front and rear along w/ 60wt front 50wt rear oils works for me on the inside offroad track (also carpet).

Thank you, but who is Casper? I'll definitely do the shock oil. I just picked up some 50 wt yesterday.

my last yrs carpet setup was 45wt with #3's frt and 40wt with #2's rear. slightly toed out in the front with stock tires. red springs up frt and green rear. does ur carpet track have jumps?

sc10's on carpet can be overpowered easy. my son was doing very good with a 17.5. the fast guys were running 13.5's. I tried a 10.5 and was overpowering the corners. I did best with the stock motor.

Heavier shock weight eh? I think I have like 30wt all around. Too light>? I have whatever the kit supplied for the FT SC10

offtraxx 09-22-2010 06:09 PM

I run 35/30 in the summer outdoor on a rough track. heavier oil for a flat track to slow down the body roll in the corners.

Just finished building my FT V2 shocks. And what a pleasure they are to build!:) The bleeder set screws do make it easier to even out the rebound in the shocks. Can't wait to test them out during my next race this Sat......and here's hoping they don't leak as bad as the V1's;)

T-BirdJunkie 09-22-2010 07:34 PM

Willy, let us know...

Something must've happened when TTR took over AE, because ThunderbirdJunkie has a set of OLD OLD OLD FT shocks on his B2 that haven't leaked any oil since 2001 or 2002...but could not keep the stock shocks together. They were TRASH man. Same story with the old GT as the B2, and other pre-TTR-takeover AE cars (T2, T3, NTC3, etc)...hopefully they've got their shock game face on with the V2s.

I haven't been to this carpet track (yet) but I do believe it has jumps. I do have way too much motor and agree that less power will be better.

thank you!

When I used to build t4/b4 shocks I used some hpi orange o-rings for shaft seals. Never leaked. Can't remember the pn or what they were from. I'll check with another club member and see if he remembers.
