run a mamba max pro and a orion pro stock 13.5 They dont rev quite as high as some of the others like the fantoms but boy are they torqy and some of the most efficicent motors on the market. And very reliable. Im loving mine. I run a 17.5 prostock and its extremly quick and fast. I run 81/26 and after 6 mins come off at 130-135 everytime.

Any mandatory hop ups needed for strength? I know the rpm bumper is one. I need to place another order with towe or speedtech so I may as well e a few hop ups as I havent even built my sc10-ft yet.

I noticed alotta peeps having issues with the havoc esc's. Is the mamba max pro smart sennse esc any good? Any 17.5 reccomendations for sc?

I put the RPM front bumper and chassis plate when I built mine and I have added RPM front arms because I kept breaking one side. Now, no issues. You have to get the GT2 hinge pin set (I think) to go along with the front arms. Check the RPM site and see.

Anyone try the Ace 1015 servo? I think its high speed/high torque would be awesome for the SC10, I just never heard of ace

Ace is the same as the Associated Servos. They are high quality and should do very well for you.

Thats a little over kill for an sc10 don't you think? They are power hogs and might require a cap on your receiver.

Not really.

I have DS1015 servos on various cars, with various receivers.

You wanna see a power hog?

Hitec HSR-5990TG

It's a robot servo, I think it's popular among the crawler crowds...

Is 18/87 the right gearing for a 4600 kv brushless motor?

That's what ThunderbirdJunkie is running. If you run mostly on smooth-ish surfaces you might be able to get away with 20/87

Ace is thunder tiger, not associated. Why would it be overkill? The one im looking at is 200oz at .10 sec

While we are on the topic of servo's....Is there another servo out there like this but cheaper? http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXDWF8&P=7
