17.5 is considered the stock class

Our local tracks recently bumped up stock to 13.5 so make sure you check where you race before buying a motor. Most places consider 17.5 stock though.

Are the sc10 rtr's good for bashing as well as racing? I will be running on tracks but also was going to pick up two sc10rtrs so my fiance could drive one.
Are the rtr's like this one at tower the newer updated rtr's? http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...I=LXXRC7**&P=7 |

Doesn't look like the updated one. If I were you, I'd get the SC10RS.
MattP's original link is to the old brushed version. It could be fine for pure bashing but if the thought of taking it to a track is in your mind, spend the extra and start off on the right foot. |
I just want the cheap brushed version for me and my fiance to mess around with when I'm not running buggy or truggy. I know the Race Spec brushless was just released but I don't need a brushless one to just goof off with.
I remember the first rtr's had issues with breaking parts and I thought associated had did a running change on plastics or something I read about. So this one and the one I posted earlier are still the old poo ones? http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...=LXXRC8**&P=ML |

Ok sounds good. I just called Associated and was told ALL the brushed rtr's were going to be discontinued and the only rtr 2wd sc10 they were planning on selling was the RS brushless one.
I might just pick up a couple of the new 2.4 blitz trucks. I had a couple before and they gave me zero problems. |
hey guys, how reliable is the stock brushless rtr sc10? i just picked up a roller and was gonna buy all the stuff for it but came to think about it, and i can probably get a new rtr sc10 brushless for the same price as i would pay for the brushless setup and batteies, charger.. what should i do? is the reedy motor and esc good or bad?

FYI, the rtr versions do still require batteries and a charger. |
ya i know.. i was just wondering if i should just get the electronics for my roller or just buy a new one.. i can buy batteries and charger after, i wa gonna get the sidewinder sct or the sidewinder 4600kv. but if i bought the new one id have to run it as it is for now. so should i just build mine, would it be worth it or worth buying a new one instead
