You should check the brushes on the motor. It is probably a hung brush, which means that you're going to have to relace them. Hopefully you can find someone that still has a comm lathe, and get the motor rebuilt.

MUD-FLAPS

Alright SC10 wheelers - In regards to the mud-flaps:

Do you run them?

Notice any difference with or without?

Any advantage to running them?

I have yet to put them on, but have noticed some running them.....just wanted to hear your opinions.

I was told not to because they can upset the truck's balance as it lands off a jump, since they will hit the ground and unload the suspension a tiny little bit. Not sure how much truth there is to it, but I didn't see any good reason to leave them on, so off the went.

If you're in last it doesn't matter. If you are leading its a courtesy thing so the other drivers can still see.

They really don't have any performance affect, but they look cool as heck.

I took my flaps off, so I can throw mud all over the slashes:nod:

FYI to everyone, the new SC10 chassis is out...

I ordered one from my atomic on Monday, and they are the new ones...

the only difference is the extra bracing in the front of the chassis...

4m old chassis is on the top, the new chassis is on the bottom

Huh i have never had a chassis problem but i am interested in what they did with the front arms and bulk head.

Steve. 03-12-2010 04:35 PM

I just put some RPM arms and their front skid/bumper on and they are TOUGH ! My son sheared an A arm off trying to squeeze between two telephone poles, fortunately there was no other damage but it was a good excuse for some upgrades. It's good to see that Associated stepped up and added reinforcement to the nose. What's nice about the RPM skid and bumper is that there's no more bracket between the actual bumper and the shock tower, it's a great piece. The arms and bumper are well worth $30.

settings for Tekin RS

Anyone have some recommends for the Tekin RS esc settings, I'm running the losi 17.5t sensored motor in my sc10. This is for indoor off-road racing.

Thanks!

I use an gtb but tekin and lrp r good too.I know tekin has the hot wire deal, that lets you program the speedcontrol anyway u want. Novak is comming out with a new speedcontrol that can be programmed with a computer to. So its up to ur wallet and what u can afford. Good luck boss!!!

I have the hotwire as well.. just wondering what recommended settings are. With the losi motor I'm using a 27t pinion for starters.. I don't need tons of top end on the indoor track just lots of 'rear end' so I'm super quick. keeping in mind the losi 17.5 is only 1820kv, quite a bit lower than the semi standard 2200kv.
