When we first started our club, the track was about 24' x 60'. We'd consider that a bit small now, especially when running 5+ cars per heat. Our current track is 36' x 72'. That's plenty big for mini and a little tight for faster touring cars. There's no real upper limit for a mini track. The other club in town here runs everything from mini to 12th scale to mod touring on the same track and it gets over 80' sometimes.

Doesn't matter how big the track is. Mini doesn't get boring.

in australia mini always runs the same track size as the other cars. i cant see why we'd want to run a smaller one?

Our track out here in Dayton Ohio has a 120ft straight, needless to say the straight is long enough,...the twisty bits inside are fun to.

Default CVA shocks and short springs

Got an M03 that was already fitted with the oil filled cva shocks but kit springs. Ran it for the first time sunday and if i put anything but kit tyres on the front it rolled so got some short springs. Now ive fitted them i have no suspension travel at all and the shock bodies are on the spring platforms! Is it ok to run on a carpet track like this or should i space them?

You need to run some spacers on them. If they are just running on the spring platforms then you will have serious handling problems.

If the spacers are missing you can buy them seperately (#50598).

Mini's run fine on a 10th scale track. We run ours outdoors on the big Cotswold track in the UK (built for nitros with a 60-odd metre straight). The only area where the minis feel wrong is on that long straight, because even on the medium sized straights there is still plenty to do to make sure the car is lined up for the next corner.

Mini's feel better on a small track than a TC, but I don't think that means they should have a small track!

In my view the absolute minimum for a 10th track is 8mx16m, 12mx24m and upwards is better. This is based on 2m lanes and the possibility of a variety of corners.

Quick question....I hate the chatter that the stock axles make on my m05. I was thinking about getting the spec-R (double jointed)cvd's, however they are kind of pricey. Are the less expensive (single jointed) cv's good enough, or should I spend the extra dough on the spec-R's?

Those yeah racing ones are even more expensive than the specR ones. They look very similar in design though. Looks like I'm just going to pony up and get the specR's.

I've had good luck with the 3 Racing V3 axles. They're single jointed, but work quite well.

Like a spool? Yes been there wrecked stuff. Locked diff is very brutal on drive train. You get alot of wheel chatter and hard on cvds etc etc and tuff to drive on tight twisty track.

Use a Yeah Racing ecs or SpecR ecs, and no more wear, no chatter !!!!! Single joint , even if you don't hear any chatter, drives don't work, you need an ecs drive(double joints).........

You cant compare them directly like that. The H/W 13T is a 380 size can so the number of turns relative to the 'normal' brushless is different.
