I'll put it another way.

The H/W is a 380 rotor inside, but the physical size of the motor (due to the cooling fins) is the same as any normal 540 brushless. So, an M05 will take any normal 540 sized brushless.

There is no direct comparative motor that I know of. Some people say 21.5, some say 17.5. But then the ESC factor and boost etc comes into it.

Hobbywing has a 17.5t large rotor ezrun motor. I've run the 13.5t and it's got less top end than the 13t finned can motor. It has more torque though and ran cooler.

Run the Tamiya 53597, they're a good solid uni. I briefly sold and used the Spec R cvd's. Yes they eliminate wheel chatter and smooth out the drive train, but if you hit anything or roll over there is a good chance they will break. I had a number of complaints about them. One racer simply swapped from a diff to a spool and the stress was enough to break them. I can't comment on the Yeah Racing brand as I haven't used them.

The Spec R shafts on touring cars don't last that long either. Did Hudy made the shaft for Yeah Racing?

I do remember reading that the HW 13T was a 380 on the inside, in a 540 size case.
I believe HW also sells a 17.5 and a 21.5 motor and I believe these are actual 540's.

All the .5 turns are full 540 motors. If you look at the others that arent they all have the same can with all the cooling fin's.

Does anyone happen to know how windings work and how they're given either an even or a .5 designation? Just curious. I've always suspected the .5 thing was just a way to make the BL motors seem special or different from brushed.

Anyway to make a mini bumper extension to cushion the blows to the front wheels???? That seems to be the only solution to most of the wear and tear !

If I use short springs that are smaller than the stock springs, do I need to use a bunch of those clip on spacers so the shock isn't compressed at all?

I'll be using my stock Tamiya TA05 oil filled shocks.
