It free's up the car a bit to help it corner better.

I've moved my servo fully inboard! I've cut half of the servo, leg off one side which allows the belt to run underneath it, cut the nub off, I really can't see why it wasn't designed this way in the first place, moves the weight more centrally by about 6mm.

Hi guys

I have a noob question which I am sure has been answered in the past but I am hoping since the brushless motors have been around for longer now I can draw on some of your experiences.

Basically I am looking for a 17.5 sensored motor for my xray T3 thats fast and reliable and doesnt get too hot as I am in Adelaide and the weather here can sit above 30C for long periods of time.

I have tried to find a Corally 17.5 pro red but they dont make them anymore.

Any suggestions or opinions would be welcome and dont hesitate to point out any motors that are crap

Thanks
Marius

Thunderpower 17.5, get both the blue and green rotors (Torque 12.3mm, High-Torque 12.5mm, respectively). Either will allow you to run a taller gear (meaning smaller final drive ratio) and will run cooler. With any 17.5 motor you should always run a fan blowing on the motor.

I ran them for about a month, very good product...But as I can tell from their website they only offer 52mm sets, and not 50mm. I ran metal spool outdrives and clipped a corner, not really that hard, and the Arrowmax CVD pin shattered. I rebuilt it with the XRay pins, with the flats, and it is good as new. All in all great product for half the price.

so, its safe to assume that the arrowmax ecs use the same pin size as the xray ecs, 1.5x8 in board and 1.5x9 out board, would this be correct thanks

Yes the Arrowmax ecs' use the same length pins as the X-Ray...Although this past Sat. at the Hurricane race in Indiana I used the 1.5X9 pins (as I did not have the shorter length pins) for the entire ECS. clearance was tight, but as long as you are using the ground flat spot pins you should be fine...I triple checked to make sure that there was not any binding issues with the extended pins by compressing the arms and by also turning wheels to full lock right and left...a dremel could alleviate this issue, but I had enough clearance for this to not be a problem.

The 2.0 chassis would be a good buy if you're running on a surface that is low grip 90% of the time. I find the stock chassis to work perfectly on most carpet surfaces once they groove up a touch, but I can't speak for asphalt.

Alexander Hagberg ran it at the Snowbirds and runs it pretty much everywhere. He seems to think its better in pretty much all conditions. Ive ran the thin top deck but not the chassis yet. Top deck does give more traction by itself.
