Honestly it’s pretty tough to do since there are so many variables. I think being strict on any driver that has any kind of sponsorship, like the rules say, not be eligible to race. So if you get stuff for free or get 20/30/50% off anyone’s products because of any kind of sponsorship then no go. I would say have a time frame that they are no longer sponsored...maybe someone that was sponsored within the last two years but is no longer sponsored in any way must race only GT1 or any other non trip class. Defining someone’s abilities gets difficult. Do you go by lap times - previous results - years racing? Someone that was awesome 5 years ago may not be so hot now. Or someone that sandbags can suddenly be fast...it’s a tough one.

Will the tire and motor matrix be updated soon. Need to know what the GT1 and GT2 motors will be (13.5/17.5 or 17.5/21.5). Also need to know the tires for the GT classes and F1.

Have you seen this happen in the past where the matrix grids have been empty on the current schedule/ rules?

I have not. Usually if a place is not confirmed it is not on the schedule or the matrix. I have seen posts from Larry’s confirming that they are hosting a race March 1
since the first tcs race is on.Super Bowl weekend.its a shame they couldn't change it .till next weekend

I personally don’t have an issue with the best drivers driving both GT2 and GT1. Right now a novice that’s won moving up to GT2 should expect a tough move up. They may struggle at first but tough competition usually helps people get better. Then maybe in the 2nd year of GT2 they improve and make the A. That’s how this all works.
sponsored drivers
I support Tamiya for getting as many Participants into the TCS program. This also contributes to getting more people to participate in our Hobby in General.
Maybe on the signup sheet, there should be a question...Have you ever been a Sponsored Driver in the past 4 years? Yes or No. If yes please specify.
This can let the Home Track know and determine if they should be in the GT1 Class or Euro Truck. All other classes are reserved for Non-Sponsored drivers(at least that's what I think the intention is)
If you receive anything from a Manufacturer at a Discount or Paid by a manufacturer to compete...you're sponsored.
I have been to many TCS races and in different tracks since the late 90's and just enjoy racing with friends. And I don't mind racing with sponsored drivers at TCS races or Club races in general...it just make me a better driver.

Regarding the Revelation Race. Is the Spec tire the the sweep tire with the Reedy race 2017 on the rim?
Also, can we now move the items around in the Pro Spec car to balance the weight in light of the Mini cars not having a problem anymore?

That’s where it gets tough...What if an inexperienced driver decides to run GT1 and there are only 3 entries. Boom...now he’s an expert.

The emphasis needs to be on getting more people to race in TCS period. After years of bemoaning how the TCS National Champions were just "the best Southern California TCS drivers" and not the best TCS drivers in the nation, TCS Nats get moved to Nebrasks and do all the Midwest and East Coast drivers pining about the Nats always being at the TCS track in Aliso show up ? Nope ! 6 cars competed in GT-1 and 5 cars competed in GT-2 at the 2019 Nats. 11 drivers competing for two of the three trip classes. Easily the lowest ever attended Nationals . Hopefully with TCS Nats again scheduled for the same track in 2020, the entries will be better.
