With about three months until the first regional race, you'd think there would be some sort of update on the testing process.

Also, once they are approved, do you think there will be enough systems too purchase or will some racers have to miss the first couple of races until they are more widely available.
According to the 2011 rules, 3 rule updates, the BL are a go.

Usually the testing comes before the rule release unless you are talking about non-Tamiya employee testing.

Supply and demand is the chance you take. Tamiya gave 3-4 months to decide what classes you want to run so you can get a jump on your spending. I don't know availability or looked into it. Although I would assume that they are available due to the rule changes.

Tell me that isn't the required motor.
21.5 allowed?
I was just practicing, not racing the FF03 between runs with the F103 so don't know what the motor rules would be. Just ran it "as it was". See you this Saturday at TQ.

CSeils / A-KO - Tamiya brushless systems last I heard will hit the US maybe December (?). As for pricing, the older sensorless Tamiya esc / motor combo was going for about $ 120.00 US in Hong Kong when I was there last month. That in US pricing (HK has no duty, no tax and shipping from Japan to HK is minimal) would be about $ 150.00 - 160.00 US. I would think sensored would be more than sensorless so price and availability..... hope we will all know soon.

A-KO,

If you go to the rules page, as of 11/2/10 rules, version 3-2, under GT2, rule 2. it says...

2. Motor rules: PENDING! FINAL TESTING AND ANALYSIS UNDER WAY!!

To me that sounds as if it is not locked in yet.

I've also been looking online at some of the major US mail order sites and they do not have any in stock. Neither does Tamiya US.

This is why I'm bringing it up on the forum. If a rule is in place months in advance, we should not have to "take a chance" of getting the proper equipment to participate. Availability is the responsibility of the company holding the series.

Keep it up Gordo! We want to see you take the win for USA. If anyone can do it its you! Don't forget my souvenir. :-) I believe there is a stream link for the tamiya's site.

Sorry I missed that. No it does not sound locked in yet. Perhaps once the worlds are over people will talk about it.

Exclamation Japan finals! GO LOPEZ GO!!

Lets see right now it's 1:30p.m. Saturday, so they should be in the 2nd round of qualifying. I would like to watch the streaming video but I'm at work and they block all video.
Your doing great Christian keep it going.
Don't forget whatever happens you are already the big winner!

Oh, and Gordo don't let them feed you that egg salad sandwich with the crust cut off. I think that's what killed Timmy's lap times by at least a 2 seconds!
Good Luck and have fun!
P.S. Tell your Dad take lots of pictures and ask him if he found that body I was asking him about!!!
