The emphasis needs to be on getting more people to race in TCS period. After years of bemoaning how the TCS National Champions were just "the best Southern California TCS drivers" and not the best TCS drivers in the nation, TCS Nats get moved to Nebrasks and do all the Midwest and East Coast drivers pining about the Nats always being at the TCS track in Aliso show up ? Nope ! 5 cars competed in GT-1 and 6 cars competed in GT-2 at the 2019 Nats. 11 drivers competing for two of the three trip classes. Easily the lowest ever attended Nationals . Hopefully with TCS Nats again scheduled for the same track in 2020, the entries will be better.

I agree that the attendance at this years Nationals was disappointing. At least the GT1 Champion also won when Nationals was held in California. I am sorry I never got to race at the Tamiya Track. I am hoping to make the trip this year to Omaha for the Nationals this year. There should have been more Midwest people there last year, It still is a trek for the East Coast. It is too bad that the one track that could have hosted the Nationals in the Chicago area went out of business. The TCS event held there last year had the highest attendance and the largest GT1 field I have ever seen (had more than 20 entries).

I had planned on going to the Nationals. Heck, I traveled from North Carolina to race in the final TCS race at Aliso, so you know that I'm not just blowing smoke. However, after the debacle with the legal motors getting to the racers and numerous other problems early in the season last year, I was simply not willing to lose a week of vacation plus $1000 of expenditure to fly to Nebraska for the event. Had the situation been managed better, I believe that I (and quite a few others) would have been more interested in the event.
Just one person's opinion.

I'm planning on attending my first TCS race since 1999. The F1 rules state Tamiya F104 rubber tires only. Are these part #'s 54198 and 54199 only or are there others I'm not finding on the Tamiya site? Does anyone have a set-up for Access Hobbies in OH?

Tamiya 1031 and 1032 are the tires to run. Should still be able to find them on eBay, Tower, and some other outlets. Keep in mind they glue on the F104 foam wheels, not the other rubber tire wheels.
