SC10 4x4 Thread
I'm running almost the same setup as symm, just yellow fronts and blue rears. I can't imagine the chassis brace hindering anything but I don't really see a need for it, with everything mounted right everything is pretty locked in. The truck really does stay planted though. I've seen several arguments about lead weights vs chassis and while I agree the lead weights are ultimately cheaper, you get an over-all balanced weight with the chassis plus less risk of a weight falling off, etc. Symms truck looked phenomenal on the track as well as Mantis, i'm still learning so I'm no where near as good as they are but even I, as a rookie am able to see noticeable improvements with this chassis.
I ran stick with the original and am still running stick with the exo, Mantis could clue you in since he runs saddle, the way he has his saddles tho, makes the weight of the lipos centered in the chassis.
I'm going to stick with the stick pack configuration for now.
(btw, if that bitch comes saddlepack ready, i'm going to kill a kitten)
You can run a shorty pack sideways, thats how i have mine. Glad the exotek chassis are out now for all you guys. I was lucky enough to do some testing with one and got to keep a prototype one
Now my truck just sits since im sick of racing in that class since there a bunch of hacks

I also really liked the pin mod (finally found a good Ti bit that worked) made the truck feel like it had a gyro in the sandy turn at the bottom of my driveway.
What they said. I cannot realistically explain to myself to buy saddles for a short course truck. I'm just not going to do it. People are winning at Club level with Sticks, and Saddles. There is no percentage claiming superiority of either. So Fuuuuuuuuuuck spending that money on Saddles. GO GO FT SC104x4.

Mayfield and Cavaliri(sp?) have a new setup sheet on RC10.com. They are running thhe saddle pack setup with the Fastlaps Chassis brace. Allso a prototype slipper setup. This is the setup they used for the Reedy truck race.

I am running stick pack with my exotech. If i had to estimate how much flex is comming from the stock center piece, if would say near 80-90%. One Mantis got his, he told me to grab and torque on the stock center piece, HOLY MOLY! it wass like a piece of rubber. If I had not thrown away the stock center piece if would turn it into a contortionist and take pics for you guys

I expect to buy the Exotech chassis once I get a feel for my SC10 4x4 in stock form. I only just ran it for the first time last night so I obviously still have some work to do before I'm ready to make any major changes.
I won't hurt at all. I truly don't believe 100% of the flex is out of the chassis. But depending on the track, flex is 'good'. That's why I don't have any plans on purchasing a Exotech. Unbolting a Chassis brace for flex over removing that god awful chassis is so much better. It's a tuning option over a replaced part. (my opinion)
Bottom line is the chassis brace does it's job. The exo (if you don't care about wanting flex depending on the track) does two jobs. Weight and a bonus: eliminates most flex.

KRIO you going to the race dec 10th at PRG .
i will be there maybe George B won't drive like a bonehead this time and i can get a good run in . he took me out three times in the main . i was in forth working my way towards the front and then came George B green and white losi from hell . he was driving so bad he pulled his truck off and quite the race on the 15th lap .

i know everyone wants to "justify" reasons for not buying it because of the cost mainly but the thing is that once you drive a truck with it you will understand and you will not go back. flex is only useable in very low grip situations, the more traction you have available the less flex you want. think about carpet TC's and asphalt TC's.
fastrc64 i am not picking on you, just making my points! i am not associated with Exotech in any way, i just know that the chassis is superior. on the juvenile RCshortcourse. there has been alot of trash talking about the chassis from a bunch of newbs that have never even tried it, i just think its funny how an opinion can be made without even trying it!
