Mantis,
Think the thread ran past this to fast, would be keen to hear your thoughts on the different lipo packs.
you dont want the tall ones, they make the truck handle horrible.
Mantis,,
I went from 5000 nano-tech saddles to IP 6000 packs, the 6000mah packs are about 6mm taller, and heavier, run in the same place at the front, the truck did seem harder to drive after that, I put it down to track conditions, we run on a large outdoor bumpy loose track here.
I'm very interested in your findings.
Cheers
Ross.

i FINALLY got a day off from racing, so i spent this morning making my saddlepack kit and installing the EXOTEC chassis!
As a machinist i am VERY impressed with the workmanship of this unit and quite frankly am amazed they can sell it so cheap. Before i got it i assumed they machined it and 2 maybe three operations using 3d software and surface molding (thats how i would have done it) but they did not they have at least 6 operations maybe 7 and trust me when i say thats alot of work! The fit and finish were perfect.

Since there is no way i was going to drill this thing out and make a bunch of holes i decided to turn my batts sideways and just make a new saddle bracket. Turned out pretty good!

My truck weight in race form minus the batteries was 2352g with a good amount of weight added to the sides (look close at the pic). I added weight at the RCpro finals and liked it. I think i added somewhere around 120g as low as i could. with the EXOTEC chassis my truck is now 2380g.
stock chassis with my saddlepack is 140g
EXOTEC with my saddlepack is 292g
so you basically get 152g of added weight down low
i also had to put the front tension pulley in its loosest position. either the new chassis is longer or the old one was bowed. im even going to have to loosen the rear one too!

Now here is where some of us will be divided.....THERE IS VIRTUALLY ZERO FLEX NOW!!! LATERALLY AND LONGITUDINALLY! You no longer need the chassis brace. One of the things that i have noticed since i got this truck is that on really hard landings the front would bounce back up no matter how you had the suspension set I think that will now go away. I like how my brace looks so until i take the motor out (so i can remove the long brace screw) i will keep it on but its no longer needed.

I am going to try and get some testing done tomorrow. i think it is going to work really well! and i hope this helps someone in their decision on this pc, i for one think it is worth the money

if you blink and eye three pages fly by you!
i did not like the tall packs at all in any setting, i couldnt put my finger on it but i think it was a combination of too much weight up high and too much weight up front. jumped bad and traction rolled alot. our trucks are light enough to make 10min mains with 5k mah (barely) so i dont think there is a need for the tall packs in my opinion!

actually that was the first thing I checked after the first qualifier. I had it set at the minimum. I know its in the setup. But man it sure is a struggle to find the right setup. The stock setup is just crap. I have made a few changes I put the sway bars on it. Heavy duty slipper pads, I have the clutch basket but havent put it on yet, I havent had any slipping issues. Just seemed like I couldnt push the truck at all with out it getting out of shape badly. During the main, I honestly didnt pull the trigger anymore than a tad above 1/4 throttle. It was un driveable if I did. I finished 7th. But I got lapped by the first and second place drivers. Was very frustrating,Not to start a war but all the truck ahead of me were losi's. And one other sc10 4x4 behind me

me and Krio went to the race i did not even know he was there till the mains . he qualified 3rd in the A main i qualified 9th we had an 8 minute race . krio and Scott rapaport a team losi a main driver battled till the end . i finished 5th krio won the race his truck looked really good . i do believe his truck has MTK basket , braced , not pinned , he said his slipper was locked down . congats to Krio he did an awesome job driving and wheeling his sc10 4x4 to the win
Sat was just ugly. I rebuilt half the truck Fri night after racing. Replaced hinge pins, F/R arms, installed the garodiscs and dual stage pistons and 0.5 rear hubs. Started with 35 F 30 R for shock oil, and 2.2 F 2.0 R sway bars. Gold Barcodes, some trucks were on slicks. Yellow springs, added 3.5 oz's of weight too.
First qualifier was ugly, got punted early and truck was pushing like mad.
2nd qual, I went back to the 2.0 bar in the front, blue springs F/R. ESC connector busted on the 6th lap, which was fine, truck was now a twitchy ugly mess.
3rd qual for some inexplicable reason my slipper nut backed almost completely off...still no idea wtf happened there...swapped the nut and was fine in the main.
Track used Qual Points, best 2 of 3 runs determined your qualifying position. That put me in back of the B Main...I softened the rear up and went for it. Truck would atleast turn, back end was still loose but it was driveable...I had just worked myself into 3rd and was looking for #2 and the piston/screw/shaft came apart on the right rear shock ending a long long day.
I did get to watch Krio put it to the Losi tho in the A...was atleast a nice way to end it
I am going to tackle switching over everything tonight onto the new exotek chassis. Mine came in Saturday and I just got home from Louisiana, have some school work to finish up and then I'll be tearing down the beast and swapping over!

Lost an LRP TC spec V2 yesterday. About 8 minutes into its 2nd ever pack, it went dead. No lights, no nada. Only temp'd it at 105, motor at 148 (4.5 550 LRP). Truck seemed pretty good, running w/o pin as I didn't wanna kill another idler. I swear, this truck has evil spirits in it...anyone know a witch doctor??
