1Fastpede wants to know how much of a difference these track star o-rings feel versus one stock ring?

Maybe driving 2WD is a good way to learn things?

thanks for the reply.
I'd say it depends on your local track. My track has a 14 and under class where you can run anything you want. From there you have 2wd Stock, 2wd Open, and 4wd Open. To me, I'm used to 4wd from running pan cars so it made the most sense for me and I feel they are pretty easy to drive. From what I've read on here, if you can drive a 2wd truck the move to 4wd is pretty easy but going the other way around is a bit harder.

Matt Howard has the trackstar O rings. Two trackstar O rings feel just a bit smoother than one X ring. Matt Howard has noticed no leakage/seepage at all from the O rings and recommends them

I put my LRP sxx comp v2 with a thunderpower 7.5 in it yesturday and ended up at 14/93 gearing and I was able to run for 25 min hard on the throttle with high bite track. I like this truck alot. eventually I want to get a 550 motor but right now the funds don't permit me to just wish I had more bottom end but oh well still running fast laps. And I had to run it with the clicker open otherwise it would heat up quicker due to more brake. Other then that with the 48pitch you have to be super detailed and make sure your mesh is perfect or you will eat up that spur gear, already toasted one.

could someone please tell me the difference between the Pro-Comp SC10 that Nitrohouse dot com sells and the Monster Drinks black SC10 that tower hobbies sells? RCTech won't let me post links because we're new here.

Is 1000 mah the standard for these trucks?

Thanks,
Super G's Dad

All the new people talking about themselves in the third person is funny except for one person.

Where do you get the trackstar o-rings and are they necessary?

Matt Howard hates X rings in all applications. The O rings provide a better seal and are smoother, win/win if you ask Matt Howard

So I decided to convert mine over to saddle pack configuration using
04SilverRS's B44.1 setup and his actual truck setup. He runs on a super tight
indoor track, I run on a slightly larger outdoor track, one that has a good long 180 degree sweeper as well as tight turns. HOLY COW!! My truck was transformed from a fun four wheel drive with major schizophrenic issues at times to a stable, planted, point-and-shoot truck that I can place anywhere, turn inside, pass outside anyone I want to! Now I know I'm not the best driver by any means..Intermediate class, mid pack guy. I'v driven my buddies'
Losi, I love it, but its a tank. I've been fighting to get that same kind of stability feeling out of the Associated, I finally have it!! I'm absolutely in love with this truck now. No more searching around for front tires with less traction to counteract other issues. All the Associateds at my track run stock fronts with good rear tires. I ran Calibers front and rear for the first time with absolute control of the vehicle wherever I pointed it. Air time manners are spot on now as well. everybody needs to try this setup!!

You don't mention how many watts your iron has but... if it is 50W or less you will not get the job done on the RX8. The heat will dissipate through the post to the heat sink and you will never get a good solder joint. If you need to hold the iron more than a few seconds then your iron is too weak. In fact, if you hold the iron for too long to the post you can actually desolder/damage things internally in the RX8. Buy a 80W iron, it is soooo much easier to solder with.

Also, you can solder the RX8 with a big tip, just place the iron on the side of the solder posts.

There is a video on Youtube where Randy from Tekin show how to solder the RX8. You should check it out.

1Fastpede has been thinking about this set-up but does not own a saddle pack!
