Another question, what soldering iron do you guys recommend? I bought a cheap $9.99 one, the tip is too big for getting into the posts on the rx8 esc. Also I saw how easily the solder melts on the tekin rx8 vid, but no matter how long I hold the tip of the iron to the gold post the solder won't melt?. Do I need a high temp iron as well?

In my experience, using anything mamba or castle has issues. I only run matching motors and esc's. I've never had a cogging problem with anything lrp or tekin and I've used both of them.

Also, double check that you are running both 20T pulleys....if you are running 1 19, you need it almost all the way tight, and if you are running 2 19s, then there is no way to tighten the belt enough....

a good motor/esc combo would be mmp with 3800. if your budget permits then go with a tekin setup or lrp setup. as far as sways go, if your track is pretty loose, you might not need them as bad as for a really high/med grip clay track. drive the truck and tune as you go. the truck is stout and very responsive.

I'm now using a lrp sxx tc spec v2 with my x12L 4.5 and no one can keep up with me in straight line speed or out of corner pull. I've also heard alot of good things about the tekin setups. Its up to you and your budget what you can afford.

Also, aa far as sway bars go, YES, get them. Start with the blues front and rear and go from there. I went to a yellow (thiner) in the rear for my track.

I've heard good things about the Castle 4-pole but will probably wait and get a Tekin myself....personal preference.
I also know several guys running LRP 4.5 and 5.5T 550s, and a few Novak 550s, and they like them too. 4.5-5.5 seems good for 2S on a large track.

What settings do you have on your esc?

i was running a lrp tc spec v2. with the lrp x12L motor at the time but now im running a MMM with a cordova 3600 4 pole motor. Finally got the torque i was looking for. As far as the other guy, i think he was running a mmp.

I got the FT shocks and all the springs yesterday. With a single trackstar o-ring for a seal it is almost like no seals at all on the new shock shafts.
FYI- FT shocks come with only bladders for the shock caps.
Now to fit the old blue shocks on the SC10 2w.

Jstall7543 tried several soldiering irons over the years fighting buying a Haako, Jstall7543 won't use anything else now! Jstall7543 loves how the iron can get up to 900deg in under a minute. Jstall7543 bought a orange wrapped 936 from Amain and saved $10 because of the color. Jstall7543 wishes he would have bought the Haako to begin with, he would have saved over $100 on light duty junk irons.
Jstall7543 doesn't think the swaybars should cost $40 and he doesn't think they are needed for where he runs. Jstall7543 got his name from AOL in 1994! Lol and then he kept using it. Reason unknown.
