First check if there is any binding, remove the pinion and roll the car it should roll smooth for a few feet without binding, if there is check the belts and the diffs
second the pinion might be too small as suggested above, use the pinion as per instructions and go from there
150 EPA is ok, it is max in spectrum radios while others have 100 only, I would advise 150 then set up your esc to that, decrease as needed for high temps, you dont need all that speed anyway, so decrease as needed based on your temps too high bring it down to 120... I run mine at 110 based on temps
set slipper as directed in instructions
dont worry we are all noobs with this truck
hope this helps man it is a good truck, sucks to work on but a good racer

I have an sc10 4x4 and have a few concerns;
Why does my truck make a loud high pitched whine under acceleration?
I have a tekin Rx8 Esc and the Tekin SC4X 550 5.5t, 62t spur and 12t pinion and the truck feels like a dog compared to most of the other trucks i see at the track? I used the hotwire to set up brakes and throttle to 100% and the truck seems brutally slow, so slow the owner at my lhs just took my DX3 tx and cranked the epa's to 150!?! I dont know if thats a good idea?

Can the slipper be so loose (mine is at 3.77mm) that im losing alot of power there? is a 12t pinion way to small the car tops out around 25-28 in the street? Is it a bad idea to set the epa's in the tx to 150?

or am i just such a noob I fail? lol
please do not hesitate to rip into me but please rip me with some accurate info please, im tired of looking at such a nice truck go so slow.

Thanks

To distributors, then Hobby Shops.

Your slipping and your pads are glazed now
Take pads off lightly sand them back to an unglazed finish re install, lock down slipper and repeat process as needed. mine seems to be every other run.

So i bought the blue springs which are a little stiffer, I'm hoping that will help since my lhs didn't have the parts to make swaybars. I run on a loamy clay surface anyway so I dont think sways will be as needed as much as a hard packed high bite. I still would like them for extra insurance.

Can definately tell a difference carrying more corner speed with (less than 2mm) sway bars. Definately need to refine my current setup since adding the roll bars but at least a step in the right direction
Crap, I just paid $27 for an HPI roll bar set.

Not to burst your bubble, but the blues are the stock springs. So you'll have replacements when they sack out.

I've always been a bit curious about this: why are the slipper pads rough, but the slipper plates are smooth? Why wouldn't you rough up both the pad and the plate? Initially, I thought maybe because the pads are cheap to replace, but it looks like they are virtually the same price....

Why 15? Is that so it has to right gear ratio? Sorry I'm a rookie lol
