wow, I was away for 3 days and missed 30 pages

well, fist official race today. we had 2 on the track, 1 durango, and 1 newby with a jammin in the mains. (other 3 regular trucks didn't run)

made it all day w/o a scratch. had a solid running truck all day. nothing broke and I took my fair share of crashes. other sc10, same, but....
we both had small stones get under the esc tray. the other truck got bad enuf to break loose the tape on the esc and got stuck on his 2 run old mmp under the rear tire. mine will be moved to the chassy and tray will go in the trash.

other than that, I noticed my rear wheels like to hop on the ruff areas of the track. I tried ride hight and oil changes. just can't suck up the bumps like my 2wd used to. has anybody tested other springs yet? a softer spring might help but my lhs doesn't have ae ones's in yet. what fits??

Just got back from a 5hr day at the Coyote Hobbies track in socal, and I must say I LOVE THIS SC10 4x4!! By far out of all my rc's it was the easiest to drive, the only issue I have is making sure turns from straightaway's and being able to keep it from flipping or spinning out. I think with some swaybars and tweaking the suspension will fix that. I ran it with my mmp esc and 3800kv 1410 motor, clicker on and off (so far I like it with clicker on)......

Here's a short video of my friend Andy aka restoorkucf driving it at the track until the lipo cutoff kicked in..... (sorry for the low quality and shakiness but I was using my cell phone)

No, the XXX-SCT and SC10 2w both have 3/16 axles.

Figure out why you're stripping hexes instead of band-aiding the problem with aluminum hexes. The aluminum hex thing has already been discussed ad nauseum.

Basically KEEP YOUR WHEELS TIGHT and you won't round out hexes.

I've traction rolled and nose-dived more in 2 days than in 3 months in the 2wd. I made some changes to shock oil and ride-height, hoping that will help. Going to try some Double Dees instead of Gridirons also.

I hope we both get it figured out, this truck is awesome when I'm not screwing it up!
The driving style of a 4wd is nothing like 2wd. Untill you learn more on how a 4wd needs to be driven making a bunch of shock, spring, and oil changes isn't really going to help much if at all.

I drove mine for the first time on friday. Played with gearing a little. Ended up running 16 (32p) and the stock spur. I have an RX8/ Sc4x 5.5t. Temps never got hotter than 135. This was on a larger 1/8 scale outdoor track in 75 degrees running 8 minute mains.

I like aluminum hexes, because I dont have to worry about stripping out wheels and hexes too. Alot of local people i race with have also stripped the plastic ones thats why im trying to find an alternative.

Also, every sct ive had that had plastic hexes, i stripped atlease once or more... but ive never stripped an aluminum one. So does that fix my problem?

There's a common denominator.

Just sayin'.

I've never had an issue with plastic hexes. On three different trucks. If you're stripping them, there is probably some user error involved.

The more track time the more I'm loving this truck. It does like ti be drive w finesse as a stock setup, but it rewards you w high bite traction and amazing steering. It steers better than my RC8Be even.

Our track just had a layout, making it much more technical. This is where tphe truck shines

Anyone had any trouble with the shock bladders? I have 2 with pin holes in them and they all seem hard and brittle. This is a new build with 0 runtime on it.
