The manual doesnt say anything about lube for the slipper thrust bearing. I would assume a thin layer of the black lube. Is that what most are doing?

I use 2mm pianowire and some hardware from my spare parts box.
there are some pics in this tread about home made swaybars
It is easy and not more then 15 minutes of work fabbing up your swaybars

Edit:
Just realised that the manual states this in spare parts for diff: 91008 - 4x4 Gear Diff Kit. Guess that means different diffs. Still interested if anyone knows this for sure though.
The big difference is the main diff gear itself, the 4x4 uses 32p, while the 2wd used 48p.

Can somebody please help with a starting point for gearing with the Castle 1410/MMP?

Thinking 48P 93T spur http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...-Spur-Gear-93T

With 16T pinion http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...inion-Gear-16T

This is the track I usually run on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RfS54nuL3s

Thanks.

Do any of you guys think that the stock settings for the servo saver are way to tight?

FYI, If your radio doesn't have EPA adjustment, you'll have to get a radio that does. I had been making the traxxas link radio work up until I got this truck, ended up stripping the servo horn. I've since bought a airtronics radio.

I dont know about ya'll but I can't ballpark a truck's spur/pinion gearing by viewing a youtube video.

get out there run a few laps and temp your motor, if its hot gear up, its not that hot gear down.

just saying.

Im running a 15/93 and it is a little slow, motor temps are in the 160 range after three straight packs with no breaks, im thinking of trying about a 17-20 range. 16 is a good starting point.

Default tires

What about tires. What is the best bet for a loose dusty track. On my 2wd goosebumps rear/ bow tie fronts work really well. I've had calibers on all 4 corners and not happy with them. Do you want the high traction tires on the front or what? Im thinking bow ties which have no sidebite and great forward bite on the front and goosebumps to stick the rear, like the 2wd. Im getting a push right now and alot of traction roll, but it can still spin out like too much front traction. Other options would be subcultures. I am going to try the other front pulley.

@McKleroy – thanks for the input I’ll start with the 16 and report back where I go from there.

Snipers do well, good forward bite, and not to much side bite, if you worried about traction rolling. I run on a dry dusty track with some loam in some corners. Also, swaybars help alot.
