Glad to hear you got the servo Gregg. Just in time to send of your brandy-new ESC.

As for Futaba and Tekin, I have no problems with my 4PKS and RX8.

I just uninstalled the USB drivers and the Software for about the 10th time, and this last install I finally got something. I plugged the battery in, and for the first time since its been out of the box, I got the diagnostic startup and chime, and the red light went to neutral, I hit the throttle and the tires moved. Looking ok now, now to hit Frys Electronics for a soldering station.

Congrats Gregg! I saw your post on the Tekin thread. Awesome!

As for the soldering station, check out that Hakko 936ESD. Awesome station. Goes up to 900F, IIRC. I used it on my RX8 and it worked awesome*. Solder flowed very nicely, and I was able to get pretty decent solder joints.

*Except where I touched the RX8 shroud with the iron by accident...oops!

Thanks billy, I replied back. I hope this nightmare is over, at least for a little while. I have a great iron, but I cant find tips for it. This is the 3rd iron ive had to buy, and now they dont sell tips, it seems like an easy replacement Im just not looking in the right place I guess. but I wanted to get a decent brand that sells replacement parts that are easily accessible. I just a 6 mm x 75 mm pencil tip.

The Fry's near me stocks tons of tips for the 936. Looking online, it's a popular station.

agarabaghi, I'm using Kyosho Zeal tape. Lots of cushion and very sticky.

Servo tape or Velcro, the padded servo tape.

Thats my problem, there is no Frys near me. I have to drive to Concord, which is like 35 miles and a $5 toll bridge.

And I just goosed the throttle on the Tekin, I dont have the steering servo installed yet, but just the smoothness and tire ballooning its going to kill my MMM, Very impressed...

This makes me wonder if I had my MMM setup wrong. This thing turned all 4 tires into saw blades in about 2 secs. My MMM did a little, but not like this.

Well, you could go and buy one of every replacement tip size they have. Then you don't have to make another trip! j/k $5 huh? That's a lot more than the usual tolls around here. Fortunately, I have a Fry's about 20 minutes from my place.

Are you using 4S? My tires ballooned quite a bit on 4S, but nothing like they did on 6S! The Ofna belted slicks are kind of freaky as they don't balloon at all. They expand just a tiny bit, but that's it.

Yes, Im on 4S and its pretty bad, my castle didnt do it like that. not like I go around doing that all the time, but...

And I decided that Im going to the track this weekend anyway, and I have to drive out there anyway to go to the track, so I will get it on the way home from there. Its 70 miles, my car takes premium and its $3.69 a gallon and $5 for a toll. And I get 22 on the highway with the cruise on and A/C off. And 67 degrees here is A/C weather when you have the windows rolled up.

What kind of car do you have Gregg? My diesel 2500 can get just over 19 MPG cruising on the highway! My daily driver gets close to 30, which is nice with a 40 mile one-way commute, which translates into 20k+ miles a year just driving to/from work!!

I also saw $3.69 for premium! It's $3.19-ish here, and diesel is only $3.39-ish.

Doug, I haven't taped any of my tires. I thought about it, but the ballooning is not that bad, and it's actually kind of funny to watch (until I burn up a few sets of expensive tires...).

Pretty sure it's the proper English language spelling of "tires" with reference to the rubber on your rims....

Those 2 holes are for an on off switch assume.

The mount is a traxxas mamba monster mount from the erevo
