+1 I took Gregg's advice and bought that combo. I'm glad I did. Plus, it came loaded with the most recent firmware. FAST shipping, and great prices!

Did the tires balloon much?

the road tires are holding up fine, a bit balder than when i put them on, but no popping off the rim. Ive yet to get to the track with the stock holeshots and closed cell foams..

Default Track Day

I caught a good day a week ago and went to the track. Have any of you guys experienced this.

Some how the inside of my wheel stripped out on me. I didn't notice it till I got home and was about to clean the car up. Interesting enough my car started run a little better before i ran my last pack for the day. I could hit the last jump and get down the straight much better. I think that was due to the slip i was experiencing on that wheel. I would be fine with the fact that that wheel is ruined but it stripped the hub also. So I have brand new holeshots on that wheel i know that acetone will get the tire off the wheel but will it damage the tire (make it to soft or even brittle). Got plenty of wheels to remount the tire on.

I've never seen the stripped wheel. That's odd. And there are some good tracks around here. I still need to go to NorCal Hobbies where they held the reedy nationals last year. It's about an hour away.

Yep, that happened to me twice right after I got my FT RC8e. I live 1+ hours from the closest track and I always get my car prepped and ready to go before I leave the house so I can just drop my buggy on the track when I get there. That turned out to be the problem. Those locknuts would get just loose enough during the drive to the track that I'd strip a hub during my first practice run. I started to really crank down on those locknuts before every time I put my buggy on the track and I have never had that problem again.

It would almost be worth living in Mexifornia to be an hour away from that track, but not quite. Now go enjoy your sunny weather and nice RC tracks while I climb up on the roof and knock 3+ feet of snow off it.

I guess i didn't think about that because the nut seemed pretty tight when i tried to get it off.. I will double check that next time. I thought it was just some kind of freak thing because i run the RC8B also and have never had that problem on any race or practice day.. So... what do you think about using acetone and remounting the tire.

Sorry, I was referring to a full scale track.

However, I'm sure the RC tracks in Cali are nice too!

There are a couple of off-road RC tracks near me, but both are about an hour away.

There are 4 nice full scale road course tracks that I go to, the nearest is about an hour tow from my place and the furthest is about a 4 to 5 hour tow.

Interesting. Is the motor in your RC8Be more powerful than the engine in your RC8B? That might be the difference.

So... what do you think about using acetone and remounting the tire.
I'm no aristocrat, but I have been in this hobby for 20+ years and have never taken a tire off a rim so I wouldn't be a good person to ask.
