I would keep the rag on if it's cold outside, just watch the engine temps.
But wait and see what Monty says, he is the Nova Master

Not quite a gem or a lemon L

It needs about 75$ bucks worth of work , it will be a little bit unless you just want to put anew piston/sleeve set in as opposed to resizing . Either way it will be in good shape .

I will be buying the Novarossi pipe in the future but I have the Os pipe left over from my V-Spec days and just getting my act together. Im looking for smooth powerband and great fuel milage. Thanks
The 2050 is a pretty interesting pipeset , I have found it to not be the pipe of choice on novarossi engines for sure . I don't like the 9901 pipe but I would choose it over the 2050 . Will it run ? Of course it will , just use what you got until you can afford a new one .

Measure the shim goofball , they come shimmed @ .80mm and so do the p5 and the fms , th toro also comes at .80mm but should be at .70mm

I raced in Austin for years and thanks for sending that bf for the make a wish race, very classy man, Keep up the good work, and I will be recommending you based on your knowledge and personality....Can't wait to try one of your engines.... So do you tune the p5 to have more top end and mileage?????? I think that would make it just perfect.....
I am all about practical and just being cool

Was that from someone trying to get you to let them work on your engine for ya ?
The 17011 front bearing is the best front bearing on the market , undisputed . It should not have to be replaced that quickly . But do not run your engine blubbery rich as it will push oil out the bearing and a buttload out of the pipe
i have had too many issues in the past with nova plugs , switched to odonnell plugs and have been very happy!! i try nova plugs every so often but always go back to odonnell .

2013 is a hard to drive pipe but it works very well . You can go bare head , just tuneit so temps are where I tell ya to keep em . Go out on the track a little rich at first ( safety thing ) then slowly lean it until you have just enough power but do not push the engine hard !!! Benice to it !! You won't see full potential and don't expect full potential until you have at least a gallon through an engine .

Hey Monty,

well i cant seem to keep the temp in the 210-230 range with the 2013 pipe, we are breakin-in 3 motors of the 4 we got, both of my mates run 9901 and the temp is just right in the 220, mine is around 180 with a screaming top-end. i stopped running yesterday not to hurt the engine, ill switch the 3005 and see how it goes. i ran it for a tank or so yesterday and the top was screaming even when i richened it, it also revs high on the air. i'm the only one running the other carb you sent me, whats the race tune on that carb?? low end and high end?? 5 low and 3.5 high??

cheers

Ali

2013 was a beast off a pipe, way too much power and it was hard to get a good tune with that pipeset too, not sure why.........Monty?

Do you have almost a gallon of fuel through the engine?

Did you put that new carb on the p5?

These carbs are different than the plus4 carbs , lsn - 3.75 - 4 turns from bottomed out ( pull slide barrel out to set this) and hsn - 3.25-3.75 turns out from bottomed out .

I set idle gap by taking the restrictor out , backing out idle screw until you can just not see any opening between slide barrel and carb seat in the body , then reopen 1 and an 1/8th
And this should get you in the ball park to start tuning for race applications

And there should be no "screamin" of the top end when your engine is that new!!!
