If you want more bottom then a 2084 or 053 pipe will be better. I have the Hotmods version and coming from a vspec the bottom is soft. But it just screams on top, and I was running a OS 2050. I have 086 coming and I may borrow a friend 053 to test.

Ok - one more vote for shimming then... I'll pull it apart and check how much it has.

I'll have a look at this closely. You do confirm the 086hs is the hot pipe for this engine, right? (which would be great as I really really like the fit and finish of this thing... I got the hard anodized version, amazing they sell the whole thing for less than $60!!!).

thanks
Paul

9886/41021 is the awesome pipe but dyn 086hs is great also

I have seen great consistancy out of those 3 ports so I am a little perplexed on your dilemma of feeling there is no power . Reduce shimming to .7mm for your 25% fuel , run a medium hot plug such as odonnell 100 or 77 and use that 086hs with 8mm and temps around 250 and it should be pretty darn good .

Keep me posted

for best performance on the toro be sure to reshim to .70mm after approx. .75-1 full gallon and use 30% (byrons recommended) race 3000 , the extra oil will boost low end performance slightly

Hey Monty, thanks for a great engine and excellent customer service, going the EXTRA mile for your customers.the FMS now has little more than 3/4 gal of fuel thru it, I still feel a little pinch @ TDC when cold, I'm gonna try to go the track monday to get a good feel for what it's capable... not that can't tell alreadyThanks,Robert.

Thanks all

My mill indeed has 0.8mm, I took it down to 0.7mm, which happens to be what my buddy has on his as he confirmed it on the phone yesterday (thanks buddy!). I'll try this with the stock nova #6, then switch to odo100 to see what kind of change there is. Re temps, my second-hand exergen is still in the mail as the seller inadequately forgot to send it

Will keep you all posted

Thanks,
Pauk

Can the FMS shimmed at .7mm run 30% nitro safely? I've already run almost one quart of 30% at .7mm, seemed fine with no unusual noise. Thanks

Yes , it won't kill the engine dobber but there is increased efficiency running .8mm shimming

One badass engine fershur!!!

That engine in your rig will get you a lot of "what engine is that ? That's the fastest engine I have ever seen!" Guaranteed

I know chris odonnells mods were for all out power so it might be a bit of an engine to handle

Bearing size is 14x25.4x6mm and standard 7x19x6mm front

Hey Monty,

I reshimmed my Toro Nero this weekend from the .8 to .7, I also changed my clutch springs to 1.1 from the stock 1.0 (MBX-6 kit) and changed the header to the 41030. It was INSANE when I pulled the trigger of my M11X as I watched the buggy throw clay at every stab of the throttle, I wasn't even able to get tghe power down to make the main jump at the drivers stand LOL. I ended up putting back the 41029 manifold (short) and with a slight richening of the bottom end it was perfect mix of bottom end power and insane top end.

I love this engine!!!!!

Anyone use the Pro Exotics PE-1 Temp Gun? What do you think of it? My old radio shack has seen better days. Looking for one in the $25-$30 range.
