Thank u man ! I feel like the motor has alittle more power to give without breaking it, I have a 086 pipe on the motor. This motor seems to be the best I ever had, I want a one more three port an a 5 port.

I have a modded 5 and its just unbelivable I have a 6.5mm insert in it and am thinking about a 5 or 5.5 because I still have way too much bottum. I have a modded 3 getting done up as we speak that should be sick. The hottest I run mine is 225. I ran my 5 port in truggy last year 7.5 insert and was smashing Jammin .28's and OS .28s on the straight. And them dudes were hating on me hard. OIn buggy now with the 6.5mm insetr I am getting like 10 mins I think with a 5-5.5 it shoul;d get 11 mins easy. I run the Dynamite 086 too.

Don't get fixated on temps. Tune for performance, sound and good smoke throughout the rev range. Each motor will run at slightly different temps, so don't be tempted to compare. If you want some re-assurance, just use the old spit on the cooling head trick for a simple, to hot / to cold / just right measurement. It's probably more accurate than half the temp guns on the market anyway !!!

Like frosty suggested, it sounds like you are too rich on the bottom end. This will cause a high idle which drops after a few seconds depending on how rich you are.
Check the idle gap is set at 1mm max, then tune the bottom end for a smoother idle and 4 - 5 second pinch test with only a small increase in revs when you pinch the fuel line off.

He was suggesting you lean the bottom and richen the top a little as well, as you mentioned it was a bit boggy out the corners I think.
I would just lean the bottom as described and see how that goes to start with. If it was boggy out of the corners leaning the bottom should fix this as well as the high idle problem.

Hey Grizz Frosty actually said to richen up the bottom end which is not what Tagalong needs to do.

It sounds like your HSN is lean and your lsn is rich and your idle is slightly high to compensate for the rich LSN

1. get your engine up to temp. atleast a tank

2. give your buggy a full throttle run away and back to you and bring it to a stop if the engine revs quite high then drops back to a normal idle after a about 5 -7 seconds you need to lean your low speed needle

3. continue doing this until the idle remains consistant after the WOT run and then adjust your Idle to suit. and fine tune the HSN.

hope this helps

Adrian
