Hiya Grizz1 ended up buying that alpha 2090 pipe to try out.. haven't had a chance yet as it's been raining for days but at first look the divergent cone is the exact same as the 2072 .. can't see the convergent but the center straight section of the pipe is the same diameter but way shorter.. conversely the manifold is a bit longer.. It's a better fit in my 808 anyway.. better clearance both for the tank and the body so maybe I can avoid melting both this season.I'll report back on performance and what if any difference the stinger sizes make.. be trying it on both the GXII and the MG66.
Some good news gents .. Neo + 30 % is now officially the worlds fastest fuel breaking the world record by 5 KPH !!
Congrats Arthur who piloted his car to victory passing at 146 kph and backed it up over 4 times ! Claiming Australian National Title and breaking the world record !
Neo + on road and off road fuels have now been officially recognised and approved by ARCMAC Australia !
Now thats nice man , oh what a feelin' Ma Ha ssive !
Very Chuffed !

Happy Christmas boys..
Thought I'd revive this thread with a little info.. been doing a little testing with the new Alpha 2090 pipe I acquired for the right price a few months back.. not finished yet and till the track dries out I can't get any real runtime info nor compare the effect of changing the replaceable stingers but initial impressions are very good.. I've been using the Go 2072 on both my Mg66 and the GXII with predictable good results but always looking for something better so...
OK first off the pipe is nicely built.. quality feel, light but solid. I always felt the 2072 was a bit flimsy and the main body dents real easy. The alpha stinger part is very thick to allow for the threaded stinger insert to be screwed in so incredibly solid indeed.. the stinger itself once fitted also sticks out a bit less than the 2072 so maybe I'll smack it a little less often.
Dimensions.. well the manifold is exactly the same shape and curve as the GO one but 5mm longer so as I've a spare Go one I can try both later to see if it affects bottom end much if at all.. The pipe itself is a lot shorter than the 2072 which is what I was looking for as I'm fed up melting the front of my 808 bodies where the very long GO pipe is a tight squeeze. A closer look though and a bit of fiddling with my verniers and I measure the divergent cone to be the same length and same final diameter so no difference there.. The convergent cone on both is hidden inside the end of the pipe so I can't measure that so the only visible difference between the two pipes is the 2072 has that long long straight cylinder section in the middle which according to my info is the bit that makes the least difference to the power band, and is what makes it such a tight fit on my 808..
Running.. Ok well only initial impressions so far and only on the GXII but straight away had to turn down the idle speed considerably over the 2072..warmed it up down the road and wow .. very crisp acceleration with plenty of howling top end. Certainly doesn't lack anything on the 2072.Idle absolutely rock solid, easy 20 second idle then instant snap away with minimal puff of smoke.Ran a couple of tanks through it on the road and I'm liking it a lot so far. wicked fast response and grabs the revs fast too. At least on tarmac no hesitation anywhere right up to flat out.
Once the weather brightens up a bit I'll try it on the track and time some tanks and play with the different stinger venturi. I'm determined to be doing easy 10 minute+ fuel stops this year.

Sorry... xmas and kids and all that.. so far I've only tried the 7.5mm.. that's the same as the 2072 internal stinger diameter (as near as anyway)..It comes with 7 and 8mm as well. I don't think I'll be trying the others until later in the new year once the track is available.. I think it unlikely I'll be able to measure any difference unless I put in some realistic laps and tankfuls of nitro around the track.. seems best to test it as it will be used, especially as I imagine any differences will be small and probably only measurable over at least a full tank..
