if it is broke in right and taken care of with about 80% of the power tuned into not 100% you should get a mini8mum of 10 gallons

hard racing about 8g, unless you really maintain with new rod , bearings and all that .

Houston, Thanks for all the help so far. I changed to the mccoy 8 plug and the temps went to around 280ish on 20% nitro. I was using the stock cold plug before. Is this normal? I have a plus 21-5k. Sorry for all the noob questions. Also do I need to do anything on the motor to go to 30% nitro?

what temps were you running before ?
what plug were you using ?
did you notice more power ? less power ?
some engines do run better w/ a cooler plug .

as far as switching to 30% , you definitely should you can add .10mm shim and it will run better . not necessary but i would recommend it .

Sorry for the missing info. I was running around 230 to 240 before and the nova #7 standard plug. I felt like it was more power at first then I richened it up a bit to bring the temps down and felt like less power. 280 seems hot?

Got my second p5xs the other day and the box had been opened by someone, maybe a return, not sure. Everything looks good and the motor does not appear to have been run. The carb settings from nova website are 4.5 turns out on high speed and flush for low speed. This one however has the low speed set at two turns in from flush any thoughts before I start it?

im just trying to make up my mind about a mill to put in my truggy.. i have had good luck with the rb in my buggy and i know they can get at least 8 gallons on them i am lookin for a mill that can do the same if not better that is as easy to tune with minimal maintenance.. so im stuck between the RB, one of the older RB WS7-2 or 3 and the Novarossi p5x/xs..

280 is definitely hot , not all areas of the world can use a hotter plug . higher humidity areas prefer cooler plugs . stick with what you were runnin if it ran better that plug shouldn't have brought the temps up that much though

factory settings are usually super rich . it should be fine but if you wanna put it back to factory it wont hurt
