I just got my order of 3 racing spur gears and they are all true. The ones I got are not flawed in any way. Maybe there was a bad first batch that was shipped out. The new 2 speed setup is pretty interesting as well. the first gear 1 way bearing actually rides on a steel collar so that they can use a larger bearing as well as a titanium shaft. I will take pics and let everyone know how it works when I get it mounted up. I was pretty amazed how fast I got my order from RC Mushroom. It was sent out form Hong Kong on Tuesday, and it arrived today. That is fast! Yee haw.

a friend of mine used the blue spur gears at the nsw titles at moorebank after stripping the original and didnt have a problem after unlike his pit buddy who stripped 5 mugen spurs, so no prizes for guessing which ones i'll be using in the future

Got a new housing where the bearing doesnt move and no more stripped gears.
What pipe you running your T03?

It'll help keep the rear from coming around. Also try 40wt-50wt (400-500) shock oil. It'll help let the car roll better, thus give more traction through the turns. Also try a stiffer rear sway bar and run the front sway flat. Driving style is different, but easier to drive for those conditions. Lot-trac tracks will make a one-way car more squirley when braking at the end of the straights. Spool will help you position the car better through the turns on-power with having to do less lifting. Just remember not to hit anything. Spools do a lot of wear on the front belt, and a locked front diff means there's no give on the universals. They will be stressed on impact and may bend or snap.

If you choose to go diff, 100k up front and 5-10k in the rear works pretty good too with no worries to the universals.
What spool mean bro?

a spool is a solid diff that gives you 100% drive to both wheels 100% of the time, unless you break a cvd

question for anyone out there- I have a complete set of tuning springs for my G4, which appear to be the same diameter as the mugen's but different length. Is it possible to use these springs on my mtx-4 or will there be a problem?

Default Crystal Park

My oldest daughter and I are going to race the Roar OnRoad Nationals in June at Crystal park Ca. USA. Anyone out there have some experience with that track. I am interested in gears, tires, springs, shock oil and overall bite level.

Thanks

Jeff, I will give you my set-up I ran for the toys for tots race. I didn't do very well, but my car was very fast. If I had finished a qualifier I would have been either high in the C or maybe in the B.

JP modified T03 with Mugen p1002 pipe. grey clutch shoe with light shoes and hard JP spring. set .08 preload and .01 endplay.
Stock gearing with 24t front pulley.

front: 600w stock pistons light blue springs, track at 198mm
42 shore tires cut to 61mm ride height 5, droop 1, caster centered, 1* out toe, flat roll bar, camber at 2*.

rear: 400w, stock pistons, light blue springs, 40 shore tires cut to 63mm, 1.5* toe in, roll bar off, camber links no spacers middle hole, camber at 2.5 ride height 5.5mm, droop at 5, 30,000 diff fluid. Track at 200mm

Good luck at the race, I wish I could make it out there for it. This setup should give you a good place to start out with.

Perfect that is exactly what I was looking for. I especially appreciate the clutch info.
