You are correct. High traction yields less wheel spin which leads to better fuel milage.

Higher bite uses far more fuel as you are on the throttle a whole pile more and the engines are under much higher loads.........

Very throttle finger, drive style, as well as, track size dependent. But if you were to somehow have the exact same track layout and be able to change it from high traction to low traction, many people will get less mileage on a low traction due to the additional wheel spin. It can be difficult to go fast on a low traction track without breaking traction at some point. And those drivers that tend to drift around corners in low traction will get terrible runtime.

I find that it is much easier to drive punched the whole time in low traction, and be in a controlled drift around the track although it may not necessarily be the fastest way around the track and it usually results in bad mileage (Ryan Lutz's old school truggy days show you how drifting around the entire track is fast and awesome to watch).

Try driving punched the whole time on a high bite track and it will only get you in trouble. You have to be much more precise with your throttle finger in high bite tracks and you tend to break traction far less often.

So in the end, really just depends on driving style and throttle control.

Thanks.

I went ahead and ordered the Keep off 4. Should be here soon. Anyone try this with a 2013 pipe in a truggy? Thanks.

Spot on! 100% agree. Runtime is directly related to throttle input. Obviously, throttle input is directly related to available traction/track layout/ driving style. There are soooo many variables.

IMHO too mild for truggy..... more of a Buggy engine....

Hello, has anyone ever experienced a novarossi clio p5? Information on who is running this engine! This engine is good for truggy? What better exhaust and manifold?

I am looking to buy for my truggy.

I'm in doubt between a motor 5 or 7 ports!

Clio p5 or keep-off 7?

Any help will be appreciated!

thank you

Both will do well...Keep-off 7 port will have more top end, the Clio should have a little more bottom end......

I'd call it my goto mill for buggy with great power that is almost Electric smooth, if you have been hesitant in trying one don't be and pull the trigger. FYI ran 6.5 venturi, 25% nitro and 41021/2096.

Although I haven't had enough time with the Clio to say it isn't a great truggy motor I have had enough to say it is great in the buggy with very linear power. I'd be more inclined to go the Keep-off or a modified Nova P5xl.

Just my opinion,

Thanks for the input. I don't race that much. Just a casual club racer and the tracks I run on tend to me small tracks. Nothing like Fear Farm. The last engine I had in it was an Orion Discovery so I am use to being underpowered. LOL. :-)

Has anyone ever used a EB Mods Power Plate on one of their Novarossi motors? Got a friend that is selling a motor with one installed and he claims they actually increase power and run time. Dont really care about the power increase but I am curious about the increased run time claim. Seems far fetched so I thought I would ask. http://www.absolutehobbyz.com/produc...ducts_id=13479

Questions??

Plus 4, c6tgc, 9901, 41021. Quick question: tuning

Motor up to temp, clutch just rebuilt, new fuel line, new plug, new fuel (sidewinder v2 30%), running a 6.5 restrictor. Top end needle about 1/2 to 1/4 turned in from flush, idles fine, bottom end doesn't drop off, pinch test about 1.5 to 2 seconds it reacts (goes lean), throttle servo set up perfect (returns throttle fully closed and opens a hair past the restrictor looking down into the carb), .5mm dead band on throttle linkage. All that being said, I run my buggy around and do a semi high to high speed pass and get on the brakes and it flames out.

What the heck? Please give me some ideas. Please....

Raise idle speed perhaps.

I run one on an OS, and your friend is telling the truth.
