NOVAROSSI Engine thread....

Motor up to temp, clutch just rebuilt, new fuel line, new plug, new fuel (sidewinder v2 30%), running a 6.5 restrictor. Top end needle about 1/2 to 1/4 turned in from flush, idles fine, bottom end doesn't drop off, pinch test about 1.5 to 2 seconds it reacts (goes lean), throttle servo set up perfect (returns throttle fully closed and opens a hair past the restrictor looking down into the carb), .5mm dead band on throttle linkage. All that being said, I run my buggy around and do a semi high to high speed pass and get on the brakes and it flames out.
What the heck? Please give me some ideas. Please....

You could also try someone elses fuel, as you may have a bad batch.
Could also try a C5 plug if you have one laying around.

I just started using it. I have roughly a gallon through the motor with S&W 30% (green), and I just bought a gallon of Sidewinder Strike Team V2 30% (clear).
I think it's gotta be bottom/idle. Plug is brand new and glows on igniter fine.

Has anyone ever used a EB Mods Power Plate on one of their Novarossi motors? Got a friend that is selling a motor with one installed and he claims they actually increase power and run time. Dont really care about the power increase but I am curious about the increased run time claim. Seems far fetched so I thought I would ask. http://www.absolutehobbyz.com/produc...ducts_id=13479

Just wondering if I need to adjust the head shims on a .21 P5XLT if I am runinf 30 % nitro. The manual is kinda vague just referring to the "exploded view". The way I read the manual 25-33% nitro run the standard shims? Just a bit unsure any help would be much appreciated. I would just run 25% but I was running 30% in my last motor and I would hate to waste 1/2 a gallon of 30% fuel. Thanks so much!

on our track conditions there is no other combo worth running but a 9886/41001/41019 on a stock or modified Bonito...this combo gives the best bottom end kick with the largest overall powerband... SO if you are running on higher traction I wouldn't be looking at a 2084 or a 9853 or a long manifold...maybe its great for slick tracks, but for anything like what we have those combos are not that good.....The very first time I tested a Bonito it was on a 2084/41005 and my first thoughts were that no wonder nobody likes these engines as it had no pop whatsoever. But as soon as a 86 and short manifold were put on the engine woke right up with all kinds of bottom end power and snap.... true story ![/QUOTE]
Neal. would this be true for the keepoff 7 as well, which of the manifolds
would be first choice for good bottom end and throttle response out of
the 2 you recomend.
thanks rick..
