The harder the compound of the tire the less tire wear you will have. Harder compounds will also give you less traction, and my react differently other than less traction, just as a stiffer spring will not just give you less traction it will also give you a more reactive car. its one of those thing you need to experience.

This is a good tip. Another good one I read about recently here at rctech is to use shrink tubing to contain the excess wire. I just wired my B4.2 this way and shortened my antenna by at least half the previous length (or more). I used a small strip of Parma clear servo tape to secure the shrink tubing to the chassis. You can also do this with your servo wire.
if you use green on some abrasive surfaces the blocks stretch & shred from being too soft.
Gold is just a bit harder & stiffer.
Wears the correct bevel on the tire while maintaining the tires foot print .

Gold or MC or clay are tire compounds that are designed for use on soft, moist, smooth, grey clay surfaces. They do not fit into a specific slot in comparison to regular tires. They are approximately in between blue & green or m3 & m4 or soft & super soft but are separate.
Not cutting a 2.4ghz antenna, while VERY good advice, is not always the case. The actual antenna that is used is only the last few millimeters that are a smaller diameter & a different color. The wire can be cut to any length as long as you strip the very end of the insulation back to THE SAME, EXACT, PRECISE LENGTH. Even a small fraction of a millimeter difference will cause reception quality to degrade. Unless really know what your doing & can strip the insulation to a very precise length, don't do it.
As an alternative, the excess antenna can be tucked inside the receiver box for an even cleaner look. The sr3100 receivers I use have a capacitor in the middle of the board. I coil the antenna around that until I get the length I'm looking for. When you do this, be careful not to unplug the antenna from the board. No problems if you do, just plug it back in, it's just easy to do & will cause a world of frustration until you figure out what went wrong. Ask me how I know

I know there is a lot of mid motor craze going on. But, I have been really curious as to weather MM would work on my local track. Then this weekend, a sponsored and fairly fast AE driver showed up to run my track. I was thinking, cool I can see the c4.2 in action. But....He pulled out his RM can and never even tried the MM car. So in short, I am pretty confident that my track would not be good for MM, because even the sponsored guys wont run MM there. One of the local TLR guys also has both the MM and RM car at the ready, but run RM. So before you go MM, and spend all of that cash, make sure you have a track where MM would be beneficial. I personally think if you are to only own 1 car, RM is the way to go on most tracks. If you race a lot and travel a lot, then buy 2 cars. One for MM and one for RM.

.The antenna on my receiver for my mt4 ripped off. No change in reception at all. Runs as good as ever .

Over the summer I did my Road To 100mph video series on Youtube and was having range problems with one of my sr3100 recievers and I found a tiny little cut in the antenna wire (a pinch mark from a reciever box top) bought a new $6 antenna and now the car will go further than my eyes can see and still be able to turn around and come back. This same reciever worked fine at a small track but if you start pushing the range you will definitely notice a difference.
ryan, I would not preach that, lol. I also had a receiver with a cut wire. About 1 inch was left. After it went 20 feet, it would just stop. I replaced the antenna and now I can drive as far as I want to. I definitely dont recommend cutting the antenna, lol.

I'm just saying that mine still works normally. I tested it on my street after it happened and I can drive 2 city blocks no problem. Any further and I'll crash it into something.

The difference is percentages. The Airtronics radios have a MUCH greater range than Spektrum radios. Your Airtronics has a range of 1500'+/- where as my Spektrum has a range of 500'+/-. When you rip off your antena & cut your range by 90% you still have a range of 150' (more than enough for most tracks), but mine will have a range of 50'
. Not much good for anything.
