Just took the buggy out for a spin with the new buku...wow was the only words that come to mind. I spent the first 6 or 7 minutes putting around the yard and then started to hammer on it. I tried going 1/16 turn tighter on the springs and I ended up stopping and going back to stock and then minus 1/16th of a turn. cant wait to try it on the track. unfortunatly it rained last night so if a groove built up yesterday its gone for next weekend. Another great recommendation by Monty. Thanks buddy, you make it so easy to spend my money!

Monty, when I was practicing at the new track with my Bu Ku I noticed it seemed a little doggy and seemed to be lacking the low end grunt it had at the other track, in this situation how would you set it up and what are the factory settings as those settings work great at the other track?

After reading the directions that came with the clutch. sounds like you should tighten the springs. but if you want to get back to the standard settings, take out your motor and remove the clutch bell. Loosen the screws and pull on the shoes with your finger nail. Tighten the shoe until it just touches the shoe ahead of it, that is your "0" point. Go one more turn. Repeat for shoe #1, but go 1 1/4 turn from "0". Shoe 2 go 1 1/2 from "0" Try to run that and if its hitting to early go 1/16 on each shoe until it feels better.

Just have a quick question about metal pinch and my x3lfm. I have right at a gallon of VP 30%/9% with 2% castor added and I got a bench break-in also from Houston. How much fuel do you run thru for bbi and is it to early for pinch to be gone? The motor runs great but I had to lean it to get temps above 200f at around a half gallon but I am used to pinch lasting around 2 gallons with my other Novas so I hope I didn't hurt it. My question is after a bbi and a gallon of fuel my metal pinch is almost gone except when enginge is very cold can barely feel it is this about right? Thanks!

I would think its a little early for full break in, but could be about right. I think the bbi puts about 500ml through the motor. I don't remember, does the x3l have the team piston? if not you could be fully broken in now, and that would explain having to lean it to get it over 200*
Does it still idle well? If so you are in premo state. You could try changing shims when the performance starts to drop off. Worse case is you got some dirt in it.

It idles great and runs awesome but just surprised at how easy it turns over when hot at 1 1/4 gallons. I'm not sure which piston it has and I have been very careful as usual about changing filter also clean front bearing after ever race. It also has been sealed up with Lucky 7. I am probably just paranoid but I get a average of 7-8 gallons of great performance out of my previous Novarossi engines and hope this ones no different. Thanks!

Mick,
I think your fine! My plus 4 seems a little loose when warm but when cold can bearly be turned over. I heat to 190* - 200* before every start and I am starting my 5th gallon this season on saturday. Knock on wood it runs like a champ. Like you said, your probably just paranoid. I'm the same way about my nitro equipment. But when it comes to E-buggy i go the cheap route to run (turnigy lipo and hobbyking esc)

Yeah I have only been racing for two years but I learn fast and did race slot cars in the 80's I have bought 3 engines all Novas Nitrotec, BTTa, and now x3lfm first two have 6 gallons and still run great love my Novas. I tell everyone who wants to run nitro buy a decent mill its not like electric they don't all come from same place just have different labels. Anyway thanks for the info/advice!
