  3. Where is the legal limit on drilling holes in your body, and has Mantis passed it?
  4. What is that noise when your truck goes through the rut in the front straight?

You definitely proved the truck is durable!

another vote on are you running the right tire?
I have all the flotek holes cut out of body. thats about it.

Also he said he was not setup right for that track and is currently working on a setup.

FYI: You could buy the Exotek chassis!
I am terrible to my truck on the 8th scale messes. (i've gotten in trouble over oils and setups for trying to make it work 'better' at my 8th scale blown out shithole. I've succeeded in alot of it. Out of the box, I understood why people were selling them like they were viruses.) and I drive it hard, and fast. I keep up and pass 8ights and RC8's with 3S tearing through the track. Yes, I naturally don't drive like those goons with their 3 and 4s cut hard and tear holes style. But I can keep on my truck hard enough to easily keep on their heels.

That aside, I think it's 'easier' to drive for the softer drivers... But by no means is it meant for it. (generally speaking, not countering your comments)

Don't get me wrong I LOVE my SC10 4x4, it's fast and very precise. I do quite well with it. Im just not sure it totally suits my driving style. My local indoor track is BIG, and FAST, and there's no real tight sections. At this point the Losi's just seem to have an edge on that type of layout.

AE SC10 8.2 4x4 anyone lol? THAT would be a nasty truck to have
I would try the exotek, or at least a bunch of stick on weights before I went to a whole new truck. A few hunks of lead could be all you need.

He's got the weight. (said in the latest post)

Now he just needs the setup and maybe 1 or 2 optional parts to get what he wants.

Sorry, was posting as I caught up on the thread. Calibers may not be the right tire for that track. I was running them on the track I posted the vid for a few pages ago, and if the track has any loose tacky dirt it will get into the grooves of the tire and cause it feel like your driving on snow.

Funny.

Our track had just gotten some rain.

The Caliber was TOO sticky for that track, as soon as the tire filled up with dirt, The Tire was 'perfect'.

RC Tires are an odd(and frustrating)thing.

I quit running calibers along time ago. they are an ok tire, but dont work great. I keep enduro's, holeshot 2.0, and bow fighters mounted up. These 3 tires seem to do real well on outside tracks.

I 'love' calibers. They've never let me down, in the sticky gunk, once they fill up a bit, They're great, and in the dusty crap, they dig down just deep enough to find traction. They are my all purpose tire.

I will be migrating to a more specific tire this spring, but the calibers have never let me down for a weekend warrior.

Is this the right stuff to use on the center diff?

This is now my 2nd attempt to get the right ball diff grease from a LHS. Didn't notice that it said "Not for stealth transmission" which makes me think it's just another lube and not what I needed.
This stuff actually worked alright. Running on carpet tonight I didn't hear any slips from the diff as all 4 tires would start slipping before that happened. I didn't try to "make" it slip by pushing backwards and hitting the gas or anything like that.

Yea they worked pretty well for me the second time on that track when it was all hard pack with a little dust on the outside of the turns. But GA red clay when a little soft just sticks to everything and slips on it's self really easy. They were ok in the turns, but I was having trouble slowing down after the straights without losing the back end.

They are my number 1 choice for carpet.

Default Upgrade to the RTR Radio

I found a good upgrade for the stock RTR radio. It uses the stock receiver and has a 10 car memory and digital controls.

I just looked at my new out of the bag Hazard wheels and noticed they also have hairline cracks in the hub, all four wheels have 2 to 3 cracks.
