+1 Calibers have lots of forward bite but the side bite isn't great. I find the truck pushes with them on unless I'm running wet dirt/mud. I don't run those tires anymore either because I find others work better.

Since the binding got better when I loosened the 3 screws that were closer to the middle of the chassis, I thought that maybe the binding is coming from the front portion of the gearbox, so I reassembled the gearbox with a 0.2mm shim stuck in between the front part (the part that is held together by the shock tower) and voila, rubbing is gone....

Still doesn't make sense though....since it is only rubbing on part of the rotation, that would tell me that my diff isn't assembled evenly, since that's the part doing the rotation.... but I double checked all 4 screws...they are in as tight as I feel comfortable with, and they all seem to be set the same...if I did manage to screw up assembling my diffs, it's odd that I would have screwed them both up the same way.... or, since both diff housings were ordered at the same time, maybe there is an imperfection in a batch of diff housings from the factory?

Curious if anyone knows of a gasket that is thinner than the stock paper thing, but still keeps the oil inside? If I can save some thickness there, I think I can correct the rubbing...
If you put those three screws in without the slipper plates installed you would notice that if you have the screws tight it will bind up the tranny so that it doesn't turn AND the screws will stick out of the plate and hit the slipper plates once installed. Also make sure your using the right length screws... I remember one being longer than the other two.

I install those three screws loose with some blue lock tight. works perfect and the screws stay in.

Any chance anyone got any pictures of the Team drivers SC104x4 at the CRCRC race this past weekend. I'm really excited to see what ae has brewing for the FT truck

Is it true that the Castle Creations 4 pole 5700kV motor shouldn't be used in the sc10 4x4?

Have I missed something about the 5x10x3 bearing mod? I keep up with this thread and can't find this.

What grinds my gears is that you have to pay an arm and a leg to get more than 3 ch on surface radios, but you can get 6ch+ Rx/Tx for air around the same price as the 3ch stuff.

The $170 price tag isn't outrageous, IMO. It's a great radio and comes w/ the dang near top of the line rx. The good thing is that you can use the FHss-2 rx's which are cheaper, around $50 or so new.

The spektrum stuff has a cheaper feel to it, IMO. Plus all the problems w/ brown-outs are not cool. I know that there are fixes for that stuff, but you'll still have extra stuff on the truck that's not needed in other cases.

The dx3r is $250 w/o a rx. $339 w/ a rx. Spektrum has cheaper radios than the MX3X, but they're not a nice as the airtronics. IMO.

The dx3c doesn't look to bad, it's priced right and if your willing to deal w/ the weak bec/ strong servo/ spektrum rx problems that come up it's ok.

There's a ton of Spektrum radios around the tracks I go to. So they must be ok. ALthough, none of the "pros", are running them.

I'd recommend the MX3X to anyone racing.

Well if you are talking about the "pros" on the AE team then no, but some of the pros on other teams are running spektrum radios.
