If you're not already running them, ceramic balls in the diff (and new diff plates) are a must.

My friend runs a cheap (sub £200) Acer netbook with Hotwire just fine... all you need is a reasonable screen resolution so that you can view all the settings and a usb port.

Has anyone else noticed that with the stock setup out of the manual the collars on the spring bodies have to be almost wound all the way up to achieve a 5mm ride height ?

My shocks measure 63mm...

For the record, I have left the motor timing along (+30).

turbo = max
delay = 0.6s

The LiPo chassis doesn't have cut-outs for Sub-C cells (NiMHs), just a couple of slots for tape. Should give a more even flex across the chassis.

I am after a 'foam' lower deck as I only race on...

I have a Yokomo BD5 bumper on my Photon... fits perfectly.

As said previously, if you don't remove the cut-outs it lasts a lot longer and you don't damage your shell in shunts so easily.
