timmay, you should be just fine with the SR3500 and 4-cell 1/12th scale. One of the changes incorporated into that versus the SR3000 was the drop in operating voltage requirement down to as low as 3.2V.

Cain, when I tried running the Mini-Rage system in my Mini-LST with one of the SR3000's and I had the same issue. If I punched it, the car would shudder and hesitate before taking off. I installed the Voltage Protector (SPM1600) and it cleared right up. I think it's a similar issue to the QC2's that the BEC output is just too low is all. I haven't had a chance to try an SR3500 in it yet, but I just might tonight. I have run one in my Chaos and it works perfectly, and that's on 4 AAA batteries for what it's worth.

Hi, quick question for you guys...

I have just brought a second receiver for my Spektrum unit (original version), but during the binding process the receiver light does not go solid, i believe i am doing everything right (as per the instructions), but i just can't get it to bind!

Any thoughts at all?

Thanks
Chris

Just to make sure you're doing everything in the right order...

Hold down the bind button on the receiver before you turn on the power
Turn on ESC or Receiver pack
The green light on the receiver should flash a time or two, pause, then flash rapidly. At this point your receiver is in Bind Mode
Hold down the Bind Button on your radio or module
Power your radio up
Once the LED starts to flash, let it go
The LED's on both receiver should go out for a moment then turn solid green.

The receiver is now bound.

Also,
If your radio is capable of using PCM/PPM transmission and you were previously using PCM, make sure you have switched to PPM, otherwise it won’t bind… got caught by this several times myself :sneaky: .

Thanks for the help fellas, i will try again tonight and let you know! My transmitter does have PCM so will definately check that out.

Cheers
Chris

Thanks, I will give it a try then. After I had problems, I looked up the specs on the SR3000. It says about the same thing, only difference is that the SR3500 has a lower max. voltage. I propose that the site should be changed to reflect the true min. and max. voltage numbers that the units actually work reliably at, not just in the lab or with calculations based on chip/component specs.

Spektrum & WiFi (802.11g)

My laptop was connected through wifi to my router and when I switched on my transmitter (Futaba 3PK) with a spektrum unit I lost connection to my router.

I thought the 2 didn't interfere?????

Retested it 10 times. It happened every time. Ok the signal from the router is weak far away from the house, but .....
And btw in the middle of nowhere are no hackers :)

Actually, I think this is quite common. Every time my older 2.4GHz cordless telephone rang it caused my and my wife's laptops to loose their wi-fi signal for a few seconds, and the router we connected to was only about 20 feet away. We bought a newer 2.4 GHz cordless phone system, and now it only disconnects us some times instead of every time the phone rings. I am not sure if newer wireless cards are designed to eliminate this problem, or if there is a fix for it? I just bought a new dual core Centrino laptop with an integrated wireless card, and now that I think of it, I have not lost my connection when the phone rings.

Older generation wireless routers and wi-fi cards had this problem quite a bit. From my experience, it was the computer's wireless connection that got lost, not an issue with the router. At our house, our older computer with an external wireless card goes out when the cordless 2.4ghz phone rings, but the newer one with it built in does not have this problem. *shrug*

I know this has been mentioned before but cant find it now. Not sure if it was in this thread or the KO thread.

I have a new Helios, older spektrum module and new 3500 receiver. What position should the switch be on the back of the helios (under the module) advanced or normal (high speed selection)?

Thanks,
Eugene
