There is no problems, i have Two of the Micro Rec. and they are working great, the size is AMAZING.

Minimadman, like Turbo mentioned, just buy a new JR-style receiver plug if you're worried about taking the lip off on your Futaba Plug. Works like a champ.

Nexus, yes the Helios/Z-1 modules also work in the Mars R. I have a good friend who uses that combo without any issues.

TC3 Blue, yes, I can feel a difference between the original system and the Pro series...almost to a fault. When I first started running the Pro Series equipment, I noticed I was turning in about a foot early in my sedan pretty consistently. Once I adjusted my driving style (what little I have) I stopped turning in early.

Arjen, to bind the new SR3500 receiver, there's a Bind Plug that's included with the receiver to accomodate this. You simply plug it into the "Battery" slot, hook in your ESC, then hold your bind button on your radio before turning it on. Once the LED turns solid orange on the receiver, it's bound. The whole process takes 10 seconds at most and once it's bound, it's bound. The SR3500 is available online now at www.horizonhobby.com

Monk, I'll try to get you those dimentions later today

Maxoo, I've been running one for a while now, all is great. I tossed one in my truggy this weekend too. I figured if anything would torture test it, that would and it held up great.

Come on now. How can you feel a 5.6ms to a 3ms difference?

The 2 receivers do look different side by side now. Alone in the bag was a little different.

I hear what you're saying, but with all things equal, same tires, same setup, same motors, and same track layout from the standard receivers to the Pro Series I was consistently turning in early when I first made the switch. This was with using JR 8800S and 9000S servos too which are lightning quick too. Before I must have been driving ahead of the car more than what I had to do with the Pro Series equipment. That's all I am saying.

i have to agree with RCGaryK - i was running carpet when i switched to the PRO and it did take awhile to stop turning in early. i too was using JR8800 and 9000s servo's. you can now make fine corrections while entering turns ;)

very nice and this was noticed by several others who just had there exsisting spektrum equiptment updated to the latest software too.

Reminds me of the first time I switched from the Hitec Lynx to the M8 . . . coulda swore I gained super-speed powers (although CoH hadn't come out yet) because I was so far ahead of the car. . .

swore for months that there could BE no difference. . .then switched and realized the truth.

:D

RCGaryK 05-23-2006 09:49 AM

Or like when you switched from analog servos to Digi's...whoa, that board just ran right in front of my car, I swear, lol

Not really directed at you-just used your quote!! I always thought there was a weird lag-but no one wold realy confirm. Now that the Pro is out and poeple find it More responsive-I can now say I told you so....Just being an @$$!!! :)

Anyone having any issues to date with the PRO series transmitter & receiver modules or the new Micro Receiver module like what was experience in the early original versions of the Spektrum RC3000 transmitter and receiver modules.

i have been using the pro for several months and the small receiver for a month or so and haven't had issue one with either.

Wow you guys can feel a 2.6 millisecond (5.6-3) difference?? Just to give an idea, average human reaction time is 200-350 milliseconds! That means, when you see something and click a button the instant you see it, it takes nearly 200-350 milliseconds from your eyes seeing it, your brain processing it, to your finger actually moving. That's nearly 100 times greater than the difference in pro and original spektrum models! 2.6 milliseconds is 0.0026 seconds - a good CRT monitor flashes at 75 Hz, which is 0.0133 secs per image, or 5 times longer than the difference between spektrum models. Note that to our eyes the image displayed by the monitor appears continuous, so I find it really surprising that someone can sense a 2.6ms difference.

Could this be some placebo effect? Maybe there's some other difference in the pro and original models that Spektrum has not mentioned. Any ideas what else could be attributed to this supposed lag? For some reason I find this really interesting.

What about the time it takes the 3PK to talk to the Spektrum Tx module... I thought there was a delay associated with that too? Maybe that has been reduced too with the Pro series...
