isnt the fix easy to do yourself? coz the antenna wire is a press on type....
just unplug the wire, route it underneath and then plug back on.... |
If its long enough, yes..

Yeah, here in Malaysia, the race tracks are open for public use without adequate radio frequency control. hmm.. spektrum really solved the problem and I hate to be out of them. Anyhow, I think the antenna wire was the cause of the problem cause it was coilling when i pulled the antenna cover out. I have fixed the wire and If I can solve the glitching problem just by extending the wire into the white plastic cover, for sure I dont need to send my units back. |
Question:
How will we know if the new Module and RX's are the UPDATED ones? I just ordered mine from our LOCAL Distributor (PITSHOP) and it's coming in a few days. Thanks. Lem |
Is the new Pro series backward compatible to the old receivers?
|
Yes the Pro Series equipment is backards compatible with the original modules and receivers. When you use an original unit with a Pro (say a Pro receiver with the original module), your latency will drop down to 4.3 milliseconds. Basically you get 1/2 the latency improvement.
|
Is the pro series out in the market yet? I wonder if the first batch of shipment has big risk of product recall.
I've had enough with the brushless systems, they have too many design flaws in the earlier releases |
Azimo, the Pro Series was just announced this past week. Its been well tested, there shouldn't be any issues.
|
Any chance we could trade/upgrade to the new stuff instead of buying everything new again? :) I doubt I would be able to tell the difference anyhow but it figures there is a newer version out now!!
|
It's been well over a year. . .which is well UNDER the cycle that xRay or Tamiya uses! LOL

How do you know this? Thanks |
It would be nice if Spektrum would release a high end competition radio similar to that silver thing they have. Like a Spektrum version M11 or something...
That way it would be alot faster because it wouldn't have to translate the info from the radio. And, it would all be in one unit. |
A lot is made of that aspect, but I think it is overrated. Here is why. On any FM module computer radio. The input signals are first converted from analog at the steering and throttle potentiometers. It is processed through the computer into signals to be transmitted and then sent to the module.
Whether the module is the FM or spektrum what does it matter. The only difference is the additional delay added by the spektrum transmission format. Whether is is built from the ground up as a spektrum would not matter because it still has to go through the same steps as before. The only way to improve the delay is to improve the format. IE the pro series system, they improved latency through improvement to the transmission format, my guess would be a faster processor to lower the time taken to check for packet errors. |
Just a note for you nitro guys, AFTER getting my spektrums updated the throttle input was dieing on the track almost the same position every time. Turns out the FS-1 failsafe (I use for low battery protection - gets hairy on those enduros) was kicking in - though it never used to before the spektrum upgrade so something has changed with the update (frame rates?). Anyway removed the fail safe and all is cool.
