both 2wd using Novak 10.5s and the SCT 4x4 using a 550 Tekin SCX 5.5.

I started with the setup I saw for the SCT-E 4x4 using the novak 550 ballistic 5.5 I believe as I figured it would be a bit more conservative. I also combined this with the recommended settings in the 323 stock software guide for I believe an 11.5 for offroad turned down slightly since the novaks start with there 30 degree timing thing.

On the tight track here, I found that I needed basically to turn all the boost off for the 4x4 to get the temps down into a reasonable range. As the track had a lot of 180s, I found that I had too much power and was jamming the brakes too much heating stuff up. The actual speed of the vehicle was sufficient so I wasn't at the high end of the throttle range all the time or too low.

The SP GT2.0 Pro performed flawlessly in my SC10 4x4. Very impressed.

It also did the same on the T4.1 , wheels on command, almost too much power.

the SC10 felt a bit down on power with the LPF, and I needed to adjust the gearing more, probably part of the issue.

All in all, the Speed passion stuff was excellent. May just pickup a pro version for the SC10 too.
Good to hear your're getting where you need to be with the 10.5s. As you've noted boost doesn't work so well on the bigger motors, and generally not really needed.

Yeah, for the track I am running on it since its very small definitely not needed. I also will be adjusting my gearing as I think I am off on that too.

I actually decided to go with all Speed Passion stuff at least for my 2wd stuff. Picked up 2 9.5R V3 competition motors to try out. Last time I had 1/10 speed passion stuff I really liked it, so will give it a go again.

Matt, I assume u really like the silver arrow v2 in your ve8. Anything I need to know, looking to get into 1/8 ebuggy and really like the ve8 (alittle nerves about the chassis). Just making sure the silver arrow is a good fit. It must be pretty good it's back order all over the place.

Does anyone have any experience using the Silver Arrow V2 motor in a 4x4 SCT? Is it basically a 550 motor like stuff from Tekin, etc?

Thinking of using this in an SC104x4 as I like the vented design.

What is the kv rating on the 5.5R Silver Arrow V2?

Better off getting the +20 or +30 timing boards. I don't think a rotor swap will get you the top speed either of these can.

Most of our local tracks non timing classes means in the esc. We can add all the timing we want in the motor tho.
I pretty sure you and I race at the same local tracks.
