Greetings all,
I am looking for some help with the GT 2.0 LPF Black ESC that I have installed in my SC10 2wd. When I punch the trottle the voltage kicks in but only slightly. Then after about 1/2 a second, the voltage will max out. I have loaded several different software pakages and changed all settings I can think of, and I just can't get rid of the delay. I use a Spektrum DX3S transmitter and when I calibrate the ESC, I never see any lights on the ESC, I just hear the beeps. I even tried calibrating the ESC in pitch darkness, still no lights,(fyi). My thought is maybe the capacitors for the ESC are going, where they have to charge up first, then allow the ESC to push the voltage to the motor, but will discharge when I let off the throttle, only to have to charge again when I punch the throttle. I race a rather small off road dirt track and there is alot of punch/brake/punch/break sequences occurring quickly during the race. Could the capacitors for the GT 1.1 be used for the 2.0 to switch out for a test. Or could I just disconnect the caps and try to get a better throttle reponse. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. |

Do you guys have any rough estimate of price range?? Im Really hoping they are no more than a Tekin RS Pro or LRP SSX or other High Priced ESC's. Was so glad to see the Most economical ESC company was raising the bar with innovation, just hoping pricing stays low!!

If that is your benchmark....then yes, definitely not going to be more then that price for the "R" version..."S" version will be much cheaper then that.

Sounds to me like it is a sensor wire connectivity problem. Check the sensor wire or try a new one. If the problem still occurs perhaps a connection on the sensor board on the motor went bad. That motor should scream the instant you pull the trigger when the sensor wire is connected like it should be. In sensorless there is a delay.
"You know, I'll never forget my old dad. When these things would happen to him... the things he'd say to me." "What did he say? " "What the hell are you doing in the bathroom day and night? Why don't you get out of there and give someone else a chance?" |
Howard, Sent you back that email. (Finally)

Need info from Speed Passion expert...
[QUOTE=tmg2112;10126460]Swapped the sensor wire and the same problem occurred. Next I'm going to try swapping out for a different 17.5 motor. If that doesn't work, I'll try another ESC. Is there any way to check the sensor board, short of sending it back to the manufacturer?
Well all here's the verdict. Got home and soldered in a different 17.5 motor(Speed Passion). Got the same problem, two stage acceleration. Soldered up my old GT V1.1 with the SP 17.5 and the newer sensor wire, re-calibrated the radio and ... no two stage. Just smooth acceleration. I guess the next question is for Howard or any one else related to Speed Passion. My GT 2.0 LPF ESC is in need of service. It was bought well over a year ago, 2009 or 2010. Any idea what they will charge to fix it? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |
Different speeds
Hi all:
I am noticing what I believe to be a problem with my new Cirtix SC master / Ultra-Sportsman 13.5 combo. When I pull the trigger to full throttle, it will do 1 of 2 things: - Go to full throttle smoothly - start, then stutter and never get to full speed. If the latter happens, the only way I can get it to go to full throttle is to completely stop the motor. As this is my first bl system, I don't have any other motors or speedos to swap in. Just wondering if these symptoms are indicative of something? Thanks Matt |

Guys I experienced first hand the two stage issue?stutter. What was happening with my car was this. Turned on, the speedo was i neutral. Three pulls of the trigger from 0 -100 then the green light flashed one flash consistent. I tried a reprogram, I tried a manual reset, and I tried to call Albert... I thought my speedo was bad due to the fact of the motor was brand new, so I wired the second 2.0 pro, and reset the basic setting, and rechecked. The green light still flashed. I replaced the sensor cable, and it still flashed. Then I said, I will swap motors. Did so and voila, flashing light gone. I opened the motor and replaced the sensor board, and rechecked everything, reinstalled the original speedo, and sensor cable. I had the opportunity to do some testing today. Let me just say, my car has never been faster. People asked all day, what motor is that. I replied "Its a Speed Passion 13.5 MMM", they replied "13.5???????????????...
I added 1 OZ, just to keep the nose down. I cant wait for the Reventon's. My SP 4400 KV/paired with a 2.0 pro in blinky mode rocked today. I let e few other guys rock it for a little, and they could not believe the difference from their own cars. |

Upon further checking, it appears to be a sensor problem. If I pull the sensor wire, it always operates in the stutter / slow mode. I'll pick up a new sensor wire on the way to the track tomorrow, and try that out.
Is it possible to have sensor problems in either the motor or speedo? Thanks Matt Thanks Matt |
Anybody run blinky with the 2.0 lpf? I was wondering if the led can be seen? Dont seem to find a hole in the case for the led to be seen.

Unfortunatley the led is on the bottom of the case. Same LED used for the throttle/brake/neutral. You should still be able to see it from the side as the bottom of the case is a smoke tinted color. |
