Silver Arrow 2 and Citrix 2200 Very Little Brakes

Any one Running a Silver Arrow 2 and Citrix 2200, I have this in a Hot Bodies Ve8 and I have very little brakes, they do slow you down but very slowly, I have had castle systems and they will lock the wheels up. I have the radio set up right, I do get the proper lights on the speed controller when full brake is reached. I have tried with two different recievers and two transmitters, one a Eurus-10 the other a dx3s. I have set up the speed controller with 100 on the transmitter and then bumped it up to 150 with no change.

Bumping up to 150 after programming to 100 will only get full brake to be reached earlier in the push of the trigger. Are you sure the speedo is set with max brake?

Yes I get a green light on speed controller when max brake is applied. It dose the same thing with two recievers and two transmitters. I have also tried it with multiple battery packs, one set 25 c and the other is a 40c.

I'm one of the racers that assisted undercut Sunday in trying to get things working.

I've had SP esc's since Dec 08 (first was a GT1.1 lpf).

We re-bind the radio/receiver, re-programed the radio to the esc and re-set the esc to base spec's. All had the same results little to no brakes.

Last time I seen this happen was with a Novak brush esc. It had a burnt smell to it after about five minutes after it lost brakes, undercuts SP esc doesn't have a smell to it. First thing I checked.

Since i am not familiar with that esc i dont have further suggestions...i texted solara to check the thread. my only thought is that therw might be a stronger brake setting on the esc.

That was my first thought also, I have it set to 100% brake.

MAX REVERSE FORCE (item #6) setting on the ESC need to set to 100%l....yes, I know you are not having reverse but that function effect the brake directly.

just curious. Does it work like this on the GT2.0 and 2.1 speedos too? If I have FOR/BRAKE setting and change reverse to 100% will the brakes increase too?

Yes...since day 1. even for the SP GT1.0 and GT1.1 period...

Never thought about undercut having the reverse turned off.

I've never raced with reverse off, have it set at 75%. I bump the TH trim up a few so the esc can't see neutral. Should be a interesting weekend getting use to MORE braking! :-)

THANKS for the info!!! :-)

Download V1.36 to get the latest and greatest. You will need the LCD programmer though.

i have the hobbywing program box would it work ??
and can i run boost on a 7.5

kwiksi 11-10-2011 06:32 AM

You should be able to. Others have. You will need to flash the LCD box. If your going to use boost with a 7.5. Be careful, start at very low settings. If your new to 323 I would just run 205mod until you have a very good understanding of 323. Really...boosting a 7.5?;)
