thanks for the setup!
4 Poles and 540. They make a lot more torque than the 2 pole 550 motors. Word I heard was that at least the Tekin Pro4 didn't like timing, but, I am assuming this was timing throughout the rpm range and not just super charger, etc. at the top of the RPM range. So I probably won't use the boost portion. Hope to get a practice session in sometime, though, track is about 120 miles away. |

thanks. pretty much just need a bit more top end. Running this in an SC10 4x4 and using a 13T pinion, was great around the track other than top end. Temps excellent.
Went up to a 15T and that probably is about the most I would go, temps went up but was close to where I needed it speed wise (Pro4 4000Kv versus guys running 4600Kvs, etc). ESC ran like a top, no issues. |
I have a couple questions about swithching rotors with my SP v3 17.5 and Ultra Sp. v2 11.5/3600 because I noticed the rotors look the same except different turn. Anyway I run nitro but like to mess around with 2wd SCT I would really like to use the can from my v3 17.5 it has much better air flow also I don't have to solder on new connectors and the reason I am wondering is I run at two tracks one is 17.5 SCT other is 10.5 SCT. What effect will switching rotors from a lower turn motor into a higher turn can if compatible have on the motor turn/performance? Might have been stupid question but I am curious! Thanks!

DEX41Rv3 Motor and esc combo
I have bought a TD DEX410Rv3 and returning to rc after a 7 year break. There are 4 of us wanting to buy the same setup for social racing on our own track. We do not have a local club for 1/10 so we kinda setting our own standard.
We need to choose a motor and esc comination that will be simple and not too programable but that will perform well and have decent speed. Comming from brushed history I need advice on which turn and esc to use. We would like an esc that can handle down to a lower turn if we need. I was thinking 10T 4000Kv or so, would that be too slow? We not experience racers but want something we can grow into speed wise, we also want something standard and ensure all the guys run the same setup, kinda like stock racing i guess. Your comments welcome... |
I race touring car 17.5 just got mmm speed passion threw it in with the same tekin rs set up i had running my d3 motor and took it out for one spin soon as i hit the brakes and started again it was cogging . i messed around with he speedo for awhile and just gave up cause i couldnt get it to stop cogging out i tried numerous set ups this motor was brand new and i didnt mess withe the endbell timing at all so i put the d3 back in and presto fixed. i tried sensor wire and every thing it wasnt that so the d3 works perfect and the mmm was cogging out on me when i hit the brakes then hit the throttle. i looked inside the mmm motor and it looked like the sensor board inside had a bit of foggy white around some solder points i mean i dont know why it would be so delicate or did i maybe get just a faulty motor idont know. any ways if anyone is running a teking rs or rsppro and have a 17.5R mmm speed passion motor and have found a good set up for it plz share. that i also put a mmm in my blinky vta car and it seems very strong a shame i have to mail in the other one tho hopfully wont take long to fix or replace

Make sure, after loading the software, calibrate with the radio, must TURN OFF EVERYTHING and turn everything back on in order to activate the 508. Then you should see the red blinking light from the bottom.
Thank you!!! Manuel |
What's the main difference between the GT2.0 pro, GT2.1 EX and the 2.1 Prostock?

2.0 pro for the best. 2.1 ex for 1 cell, and prostock for 2wd sc,buggy,or stadium down to 10.5...real racers use the 2.0 pro.:sneaky:

Maybe try reloading the firmware again. With older versions they used to recommend loading it twice, not sure if that's still the case with 428, but something to try that shouldn't hurt anything.
