But in general a 4 pole isnt really recommended. A 2 pole will run....we even have our own 550 2 pole Blaze motors.

Sorry want to put a 2 pole motor in 4wd SC. I was looking to put the Blaze motor with the reventon r in my durango.

How about a 4 pole 540 can

Hey there guys, I currently run a Speed Passion GT2.0 Pro in both my 2WD & 4WD off road buggies (1/10th).

I run an 8.5T in the 2WD & a 6.5T in the 4WD.

I have this:

http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/i...vyD99/4cap.jpg

Specification:
Capacity: 1880uf (4*470uf)
Voltage: 16V.
Impedance: 0.002 ohm
Ripple Current Endurance: 24 Amp
Size: 42mm x 17mm x 11mm

Super low impedance.
Low temperature in working state.
Reduces the RF interference to make the RC model more reliable,
Improves the burst power when the motor starts to run.
With its excellent "Ripple Current Endurance", the interference caused by the quick switch on/off of the MOSFET can be observably reduced.

I want to use this:

http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/i...vyD99/2cap.jpg

Specification:
Capacity: 660uf (330uF*2).
Voltage: 16V.
Impedance: 0.002 ohm
Ripple Current Endurance: 24 Amp
Size: 30mm(L) * 13mm(W) * 13mm(H).

I may have answered my own question - the 4 cap unit has three times the capacity of the 2 cap unit. 1880uf vs. 660uf. But if this is the case how does the Orion and the new Hobbywing 3.0 make such good use of these 2 cap units but the older GT2.0 Pro cannot - or is it that the 4 unit cap just has a lot more capacity built into it and possibly more than it actually needs - over spec'd?

What it comes down to is this - can I use the smaller 2 cap unit in my B5?!

I can live with the 4 cap unit in my 4WD. Although I'd like to swap it out as well.

Can someone help me out with an answer?

Thanks in advance.

D.

You should be able to use the 2 Cap just fine if you prefer but the 4 Cap is the latest and greatest. I love the 4Cap on both my 410 and my 4.2.

I'm selling my NIB speed passion combo here for cheap http://www.rctech.net/forum/r-c-item...ess-motor.html

I see that the Pro stock 1 V22 firmware was released a few days ago. Any idea what's new/changed in it?

If you see the name Mike Kochanski he is based in the US so his setups might be similar to tracks you run.

Yeah I have been looking at all those while troubleshooting and I am running much less agressive settings(no boost)...

I am also hearing alot about savox servos causing brownout due to the spikes.. Is it pretty much assumed that everyone is running a BEC or power glitch capacitor to bypass the ESC??

Just trying to get a concensus on the Reventon/Savox combination...Thinking that might be the culprit..

Question for the SP experts...is the Reventon R much better then the Stock Club Race?? I have the Stock Club in my T4.2 now and just got a great deal on Reventon R w/ V3 MMM 17.5T Combo...thanks in advance!

I'd go w the R over SCR ANY day. More power is never a bad thing.

Hey...I got a SP GT 2.0 pro esc for my sct that has a 17.5 motor. Im trying to program it through the setup button but I'm having problems. I've looked in the manual and I keep messing up the calibration. The instructions are confusing on how to get into setup mode...I'm going to get a programming box soon but for now I'm using the setup button.

Man I highly recommend the programming box and the computer program that can be downloaded from the Speedpassion. net website. Makes life SOOO much easier. Without em its kinda like painting house with finger paints... can be done but gawd Who would want to.

When I was still racing 4SCT, I ran an original Reventon Pro and a Blaze 5700 prototype motor (pre-release). I never had any issues with it. I had it in a Losi SCTE w/ MIP Pro4mance kit, 12t pinion, stock spur, and boost.

THAT is exactly what I was thinking as well. Just wondered how well it wd handle the larger motor. Thx J!

Well to be clear, the truck was a handful. The speed was awesome but you really needed to finesse it around the track. If you got to hammer triggerIf I were to run the class again, I would probably leave the boost out of it. At the time I was testing durability.

If I were to run the class again, I'm not sure I'd run the boost. The 5700 is a beast as it is.

SRW141 05-06-2014 10:14 AM

Jason what do you think about Mod2 firmware with the 5700?
