Thank you, do u think it would be ok for a heavier truck like the Tekno?
In your opinion is it worth switching from a RX8? I happy with the RX8, but always looking to improve. |
I tried running the Rev Pro in my Tekno SCT410 and no worky. I was running stock 0 software with a HW 4000kv 4-pole. The motor never got above 130 but the ESC would hit overheat protection in less than 3 minutes of normal driving. I turned off overheat protection, drove like a granny and the ESC would completely shutoff after 5-8 minutes.
SP guys, any idea why the Rev Pro cannot handle a 4-pole in an SC running stock 0 software? The GT 2.0 which is 120a seems to have no problems, but the Rev Pro which is 140a cannot hack it. |

No idea. The SP guys previously said it could handle a 4-pole and I couldn't make that work. A 550 draws less Amps, so perhaps. Until the SP guys jump on here and explain what is going on I would go with the GT 2.0 or a dedicated SCT ESC.
I want to use SP stuff in my on road stuff this year. And wondering if its worth changing from my RX8 in my 4x4sc, to something SP like a GT2.0 or Revention Pro. If no one has a AB comparision I may just stay with the RX8 in the truck. |

Strange.
Totally random, what is your radio setting? I noticed that if I had anything other than a linear curve, it would also do strange things when i ran the GT 2.0 or LPF ESC. Waiting for a car to show up on Mon before I test the new REV S. in it. MOmo Any stock setting or tuning tips would be appreciated. |

First trophy race in a dozen years. This ESC was flawless!
After a rough start (lost equipment that showed up next day and blown idler gear) I managed a 2nd Plc c-main Finnish and 5th in the B. wasn't too far off pace with a new layout and all the difficulties of the day. Solara, thank you for the clarification that my settings work well. It's my pleasure to provide input! Great product and support. The pro4 will work in Mod2 settings. Just NO boost.. Ever! Don't need on these motors anyway!! Have fun gents! Sal

Just take a look back at the settings I'm running in MOD 2 and do not use boost of any type.

I just reviewed the Tekno specs. It is basically a 1/8 and super heavy. I wouldn't trust any 1/10 esc in that thing.

This was discussed a while back, I'd send a pm to PastaBoyNY whom I quoted for you or Cain for suggestions on settings. It sounds like you need to change to mod 2 software and make sure you are running NO BOOST, and I think no timing either, but they would know for sure.
a blink or mod software is what I personally would use if I was running the Reventon Pro and a 4 pole motor.

Well thanks for looking into it.
I have also heard that you can use the Silver Arrow V2 ESCs on 2S which, considering the guts of it look similar to the hobbywing or whatever stuff which does work on 2S, don't see why not. There are even settings in the software to set it as such. |
I run a reventon pro and a prototype 550 can 2 pole motor in my 4x4 sct and it works flawless. There are also drivers running reventon pros in tekno trucks with great success as well.

what are the rotor sizes of the new Blaze 550s?
|
I looked at PastaBoyNY posts and any of the software options that don't have boost should work. I have been running stock 0 which has no boost or timing and it still doesn't work. So something is wrong.

Hideeho
Finished testing my new reventon r & lrp motor. I ended up trying a friends reedy & it ran the whole pack with no problem. That eliminated the ESC as the source of the problem. Then I swapped the lrp from my b4 to my b44 & vice versa. The b44 (with an RS pro ESC) ran perfectly. Then I ran my other lrp in the b4 (w/ the rev r). Not a single problem all the way to lipo cut off, & smooth as a babies bottom to boot! The problem turns out to have been with that 1 individual lrp motor. Swapping the 2 8.5t solved the whole problem. I'll just have to remember if I end up getting a rev pro for the b44 I'll also need a different motor for it. Now I get to start playing with the timing in the ESC in preparation for next Saturdays $ race! |
